2009/10 - Southampton start the season on -10 points in League One 2009/10 - Inter Milan win the UEFA Champions League See you on Thursday, Inter.
Are the Saints fans in one block or have Inter split them up to lessen the impact of their vocal support?
We seem to be getting a few hamstring pulls lately....is that down to our training methods, do you think? Or is mere coincidence? Puel has said Targett won't be going, so I would imagine McQueen would at least travel with the squad. He did enough on Sunday to be seriously in contention. Austin mentioned the Milan game, but said the City game was more important. Surely he won't be left behind again!!
McQueen hoping to be on that plane. Hesketh found a big away trip a bit daunting, so hope he grabs his chance if it comes.
There could well be as many Saints fans there as Inter, such is the apathy from their fans for this tournament at this stage. 15000 will be my prediction for those attending the game.
Exactly!! The City game is massively important and surely all Saints fans would want a win there to keep the momentum going. Maybe this very talented City side have one more PL match without winning before continuing to give out thrashings to all and sundry!! As for Inter, If Saints go out and enjoy the occasion, the result will take care of itself.
I would go ever so slightly higher, they drew in 16k for Hapoel, no idea on the number from Israel but can't imagine it was more than 1/2k, also while we are no Manchester United, would expect us to draw in a few more than Hapoel. Maybe 20/25k at a push?
I think Charlie is definitely going to Milan as his normally busy twitter account has been quite for 16 hrs.......so he must be packing his bag ready to go
I think their (Inter fans) apathy / animosity with the team / EL has worsened since then, so it could be less than 20,000 which will be nice if we are around the 7K mark.
Also, let's not forget they're playing Barcelona tomorrow, which could possibly mean 4 games without a win - Celtic / Spuds / EFC ! You can argue that might be good for us or bad but it'll certainly put extra pressure on them.
Betfair's implied chances for the game: 40% Inter win 31% Saints win 29% Draw Sounds about right to me. Who would have said that five years ago? (© every Saints fan every time we’re doing reasonably well) Vin
I'd be more surprised by a home win than away. They've lost their first 2 games against worse opposition and are in ****e form. We have done well in our first 2 games and are in amazing form! Plus they have been resting key players in the EL so aren't taking it seriously.
