Agree on Can Possible Coutinho moves back Studge up front but if you do that Firm seems to struggle. Possible Lucas , Hendo , Can then Mane , Firm , Couts but we will see in less than 24 hours PS my wife bless her took it into her head to invite a friend of hers round tomorrow to watch the game as she "supports" LFC.Now i have a lot of time for the wifes mate as she has been a real help over the years but and it is a big but I can cope when it is just another game but her nonsensical twittering during matches which matter does my head in
don't we all mate on Can the only alternative is Lucas who is as nailed on as elbows to get booked with loads of time to go oh i have thought of another - move Milner back to midfield and play Moreno at LB. you wanted a lift and that is the best i can manage
Don't tell the Arsenal lads that, they think the "invincibles" are the bestest team ever (even when you point out that Chelsea have the highest points score and only lost 1 game)
They are the best premier league side ever, in my opinion. As you pointed out, the Chelsea side lost a game, Arsenal didn't. As good as the Chelsea side were, going a whole season unbeaten is the pinnacle of consistency and mental strength. Also I'd rather go unbeaten and get 90 pts than lose 1 game and get 95 pts.
Only in a world where refs are capable and consistent, otherwise going unbeaten is just a fluke of getting the right decisions (as in Arsenal's case)
Every team gets their share of luck on the way to winning or achieving things in football. It doesn't mean the achievement should be discredited. Or are we now saying that our CL win in 2005 was a fluke because Garcia's goal may or may not have crossed the line Vs Chelsea? Arsenal were the best team in that year and they responded to every single setback positively resulting in them going unbeaten for the whole season. I remember they went down twice to us at Highbury and still managed to win 4-2 which showed the character of their team and their attacking quality, not many team scored 4 against us when Houllier was in charge.
I kind of understand your reasoning but if they had both done it in the same season Chelsea would have won the league so how can you justify saying Arsenal were the better team? If a team manage 38 draws in a season and were relegated where would that leave them, invincible yet **** (Preston did it first by the way but people forget them)
The creditable achievement is being the best team and winning the league. But saying their 91 points are a better achievement than another team's 95 points is nonsense. If you got 111 points winning 37 games with beautiful football, then in the 38th half your team was wiped out by injury and the ref robbed you blind denying 5 stonewall penalties and finally losing to an offside handball goal that ricochets off a beachball and didn't cross the line, are you going to say oh well guess Arsenal were still better?
Depends. A draw against team directly below you and another team is better than beating another team and losing against team directly below you if they also then win again.
Yeah but what if the win is against the team directly below you and the loss is to the team that keeps Everton/Man Utd out of the top 4?
