The Chairboys travel to Nottinghamshire for a rut against the Stags at Field Mill, it will be the seventh away game in the league and so far we have accumulated just one miserable point this poor away form is something that the traveling Chairboy followers are not use too! but it has now been over eight months since Gareth and the lads have picked up all three points on the road a statistic that they will be going all out to change. Gaz goes into this game with no new injury worries Scott Kashket should be back from illness Scott Brown and Myles Weston are nearing a return which just leaves O'Nien, Southwell and Muller still a month or two away from action. Will this be the weekend when our luck on the road changes the squad travels up the M1 today for an over night stay in the hope that the lethargic display of last weekend is a distance memory, Field Mill has been a happy hunting ground for the Chairboys so all we can do is hope that lady luck is smiling on us and the lads bring home the venison
To be fair i would have taken a point before the game. Saw the goals last night and Green fouled our defender just before scoring it was blatent! Still; at least my home village team Burnham won their first game of the season after losing their first 14
First half we were excellent, second half appauling and the referee was one of the poorest ive ever seen. First half it just seemed to click. Bloomfield was everywhere, hayes linking up play well, bayo being the target man he can so excellentlyn be, stewart read the game very well. My issue was the second half - we seemed content with the lead and didnt attack for another. Pierre and JJ looked disinterested, stewart and harriman werre all over the place, blooms and hayes looked dead on thier feet yet not subbed. Ainsworth seemed content with just blaming the ref, who in fairness was appauling - gave mansfield every 50/50, broke up our attacked very well and offered no protection to PCH who was getting some horrendous tackles put in on him. So all in all not a very positive day! Still nice to run into tom (occasionally on this forum) again!
