£40m + the market value for Eto'o . You could also add on the wages for hleb if barca were paying any. Seems simple enough to me.
Ahh, so the market value for Eto'o counted. What if they had sold Eto'o to another team first, then used the money towards Zlatans transfer? Would the net spend have then only been £40m + Hlebs wage?
Well i say add it but others say not to as you are losing an asset that you have already paid for and is therefore already included in your overall net spend. There are other quirks to the system but what ever way the list is done, net spend is still one of the best indicators that performance will improve for teams. Hence people who are able to understand it can use it as a tool to help them decide if a club is under/over performing. So, even though you don't/cant/ wont understand net spend, you can still tell us what you think is the reason for utds underperformance these last few years?
Same as Liverpool's, poor players, yeam selection and tactics I am happy we have agreed I am right on net spend being a total farce because it tries to ignore the players that have been sold to create money
No it doesn't and no we didn't. Poor players for utd? despite having over a quarter of a billion net spend in the last couple of years alone?
I think you had/have lots of excellent players who are not achieving their potential for whatever reason. IE underperforming.
So if you agree you have good players then with mourinho in charge you will do very well this season?
We certainly should do well (not sure about very), 7 games in and things are looking a little better so we are moving in the right direction.
Things should be a whole lot better given the squad you have, we just haven't seen much evidence of it yet.
Only problem is you're moving slower than every other team in the league #official Man Utd cover the least ground #hoofball
What do you expect after 7 games? Klopp had 30 with your lot last season and managed to drop them down a place in the league.
If you spend most of the time in the attacking half of the pitch you don't have to move around as much as other teams that are chasing end to end
TBH I expect you'll improve now Southgate has shown Mourinho how to stand up to Rooney and drop him #lessonslearned
But he first had to cry at press conferences about how he was only doing it because horrible commentators were putting him off
