Some of the highlights from today’s BBC footie gossip –
ManUre might be willing to pay Wayne £26M to terminate his contract early – wtf!!!!
    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-united-facing-26m-wayne-9033100 -#ludicrous

Also from the Mirror – Southgate will be handed England manager’s job if they beat Scotland on 11th Nov - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/england-managers-job-go-gareth-9033513
Also Shearer making a comment re Derby sacking McClaren for not getting Derby promoted, then getting sacked by Newcastle for getting them relegated and then re-hired by Derby - #unbeleivable

    This is priceless.
Check out the two teams playing, and then the respective goalscorers <laugh> <ok>
I'm pretty sure it's authentic, not contrived, too. From last year.

Well, thank goodness after all the excitement (?) of the World Cup qualifiers, we get back down to the real business in just over 24 hours’ time.
Some interesting games over the next 9 days and I’m really hoping we can get at least 6 points out of our upcoming games, as I can see our rivals in the top 6 getting quite a haul out of their respective games

Maybe in the sense that he's steady, consistent, not prone to knee-jerk reactions like dropping the captain (which ought to have been done months ago <doh>), always speaks highly of the opposition, politically correct, and a considerable 'yes' man. So yes, he ticks just about every available box <yikes>

From the BBC match preview page:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37581994
"Marouane Chamakh joined Cardiff City on a free after his release from Crystal Palace in the summer"

And doesn't he look deliriously happy about it in this pic? <yikes> <laugh>

Following on from my last comment, I urge everyone to have a read of Ed Couzens-Lake's column in today's MFW. It is truly brilliant and inspirational.
And also what many of us on here have been saying for years.
    It ain't a game any more, it's a 'product' <doh> <doh>
[Not blowing my own trumpet, but I'm quite pleased with my comment at the end of the piece <ok>]

AN at the press call suggesting Timm K and M Olsson, who both came off midweek, should be fine for selection tomorrow.
    <hugesighofreliefemoticon> Fingers crossed!

Good news about Klose and Olsson, Cromer. Fingers crossed indeed! Liked the MFW article as well and I added a comment as follows:

Whilst none of us like football becoming a ‘product’, it is not particularly new. The big clubs were doing it back in the 70’s to the disadvantage of smaller clubs, eventually leading to the EPL.

As for the media input, those of us who remember following results back then on ceefax scores or occasional score updates on the BBC match coverage (if your team happened to be one of the 6 teams chosen for updates) now we can at least listen to the matches and possibly even see them on Sky, BT or an internet stream. Like Paul, I’m an exile, so I pay £35 to the club for Canaries Player to get something like 50 match commentaries, plus interviews and highlights this season. That seems good value to me.

Football is an international game these days and the change to EFL reflects that. For those of us in this country it seems silly, but internationally it makes sense.

Yeah, this deluded "rotational policy" that they mention. Hey, let's give it to right-wing, anti-black nationist fueled Russia next, then we can send everyone to one of the hottest and least hospitable regions on the entire planet after that <applause> <doh>
At least Europe has the infrastructure in place, shorter distances for players, coaches / physios and fans to travel and a reasonable record of fair policing / stewarding - unless things kick off, when more drastic measures may be needed.

We've held one in my lifetime AND we won it!!'
We had far better footballers then though, and they didn't earn much!

I'm not renowned for my fence-sitting prowess, GE.
