Good Morning Everyone, please log in to view this image Derby County v Leeds Utd Saturday 15th October 2016 @3pm Streaming links to follow Stuart Dallas has picked up a calf strain on international duty with Northern Ireland. The 25 yo winger was sent back to Elland Road for treatment prior to Northern Ireland's defeat against Germany last night. There is no word as of yet on Chris Wood who was on duty for the Kiwi's, though as we have not heard anything to the contrary, we should assume he'll be fit to play. The only definite absentee will be Bridcutt who is expected to be out until the New Year and Gary Monk who will be watching from the stands after being sent off for swearing at match officials. It will be interesting to see whether Leeds will give any game time to Berardi who has been regaining his fitness following injury. Rudderless Derby County will be managed by Chris Powell following Nigel Pearson's departure. They lie in 20th place, two points above the drop zone. Surely none of us expected to see that 11 games in the season?
Mornin Elland and all. Glad to see the back end of the international break. I'll be keeping tabs on the Leeds match while perched high in the stands at Celtic Park, all part of the national duty. Problem for Wood is appently he doesn't get back to Leeds till Thursday morning after long flights so may not be up to ninety minutes at Derby. Derbys plight is surely proof how little there is between most teams in our division. They've spent heavy in recent seasons so maybe paying the price for that now
Morning Eire, they have spend heavily, yes, but they have kept their best players, haven't they? I doubt Wood will be flying economy class! Who pays for the players travel? Club or Country?
Morning all. I cannot believe Derby are odds on to beat Leeds. Surely current form suggests Leeds should be favourites?
Morning all ... hope Dallas is ok, and Wood gets some rest in before Saturday because he will start ... Berardi will get on the pitch when we're 3-0 up ... Derby are in trouble, they invested heavily, and missing promotion is hurting financially because they let Chris Martin go out on a season loan (crazy) and sold Hendrick (their best player) ... they are also suffering thanks to a trigger-happy chairman who keeps getting his manager appointments wrong ... the Championship is unforgiving, and if your club and team aren't together and up for the fight every single week, then you will suffer we have seen time and again how big spending clubs are undone in the brutal league that is the Championship ... QPR desperately need promotion because they are out of money, and when their high earners are all gone they will be plunged into a Ken Bates bargain basement transfer strategy, and I can honestly see them dropping down a division or two because their small support base can't sustain them financially ... their big mistake after relegation was keeping their highly paid squad but appointing a useless manager, and the results hurt clubs like Burnley and Norwich have figured out that the boing-boing Baggies strategy of a couple of Prem promotions and relegations aren't that bad for business, because it fills the coffers and prevents signing players heavy on wages until the club is established financially, and then more quality is added to ensure Prem survival long term ... clubs coming down from the Prem in future are going to be so strong financially that they will be almost impossible to compete against, so long as they retain their best players (financially they should be able to) and have a good manager Leeds need promotion preferably this season, no later than next, otherwise promotion may well become impossible, unless a billionaire invests £100m in the squad ... the Prem riches have now made the gap to the Championship a ginormous chasm that will eventually become impossible to bridge by long-term residents of the Championship and below Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
This is a hard one to call, Derby have hit a bit of form with 4 points from their last two games, bit like Leeds at beginning. They're a wounded tiger who've picked up their performances, could go either way. I'm going for Leeds by 1 goal, but wouldn't be surprised if Derby managed to nick it.
Morning all. Billy agree on much but QPR will still earn more than double what we will because still on parachute money which stinks. That money allows them to keep top earning players. West Brom started the bounce plan and after 3 up and downs are now established, just as Stoke did, Wigan before Martinez fooked them, Bolton all these pub teams used a bent system that rewards failure and kept us down due to lack of level playing field. Yes you need an owner who is shrewd but I go back to when we got into the Championship from League 1. Southampton, Norwich and Swansea were with us and all have used the system and shred ownership to get them the riches of the prem. We were looking like a back to back promotion team but Bates ****ed Grayson over and Southampton did back to back and look at them now. Ownership is key, and although we have a nutfuck as owner he seems to be listening so far this season. If he can get us into the play offs he will recognise that backing a good manager is the way to go and do it again. £150m for promotion and if relegated get £16m each season for 4 seasons u8nless promoted again where the £150m comes back. stinks and is unfair but that promotion is huge and will see many clubs try for it. As Billy says Derby have gone for it and failed because of manager choice and a board who know fook all, Leiecester did it well and look at them now, Midlesboro finally did it again after sticking with a good manager, Burnley did it with a manager and not much else, Hull did it with a manager and not much else and the problem for us is that half the teams in our league are on parachute payments or are investing
Morning all, I agree with LL too tricky to call this one. You would have to say a point away from home would be a decent result, I can't see Derby going down, they are one of those teams that could make a late challenge and string a few results together.
It's one of those games where on current form we should win, which in our case means we will lose. But we have been positive of late and actually look like a side now. Fingers crossed Wood comes back and is ready to go because he has been key to the way we play now. Ill go for 1-1
Morning all. I think this maybe a draw given the break and an interruption on how we've been playing. I think Beradi will get back when he's fully fit AND our RB needs another break. On Wood, I would imagine he'll start and be given an hour. Good to get back to proper footy
I have a feeling when Berardi comes back it will be at LB Monk was adamant that we needed another RB so we got Ayling, Coyle is good cover and Berardi should have been first choice. I would prefer Berardi to make the RB slot his own but can't see it happening
Wood should be fine, he shall be in Business Class at worst, full 180 deg. bed, partitioned off, only thing he may not get is a bj from the tart with a cart. Be happy with a draw, 3 pts will be a bonus, as Derby shall come good at some point.
Morning Billy, Dallas seems to be rated highly by Monk, more so than a lot of fans. Dallas adds stability, and tracks back a lot; that must be why! I forgot about Hendrick, yep, major player. Chris Martin is only 27, I thought he was older than that...
Morning Lover, we have a way of playing now, and I don't really rate Chris Powell. Think if we can play like we have been we'll win 2-0. Still think we are stronger away from home...
D pends on who's paying. First class if New Zealand federation. If it's Cellino, it'll likely be by balloon and will depend on wind direction if he ever gets back
