I will totally stand by my assertion he's a **** right winger. He has played rcm and done well. Klopp moved him to get more out of him and he's getting in the box more now than as a bloody right side forward other no 10 and that's sinful by him last year.
Nah, you said he was a walking hairdo with a fancy turn now and again. Position never came into it as far as I can remember.
Lallana is vital to the pressing game Klopp wants us playing, His energy / pace in closing down seems to set the tone for the other forward players. Like a lot of the team the pre season seems to have helped in getting a better understanding of how Klopp wants the press used and how to turn that into chances for us,
Didn't agree with some that he was performing well last season (it was an improvement but not by much) but this season is certainly much better and to lose him during a purple patch is annoying. It's a big loss but we'll be replacing him with one our best players - Coutinho, who scores more goals, gets more assists, far more creative, better passer and can bypass the press from the opposition. The only thing he's not as good at his running around like a mad man - however, he's no slouch. He works hard for the team. The comment about being stronger is slightly tongue in cheek. It will be interesting to see who plays deepest - Hendo or Can.
From tonight's performance I woud say there is little between them, they both wander around the centre of the field waving their arms at other players. Lallana is more effective than Coutinho on a regular basis, if he tried as many wild shots he would score more goals too. 1 out of 20 on target can catch the keeper by surprise and look like a worldie when taken on it's own.
The other thing about Lala, even when he was crap you couldn't fault him for work rate. He always worked hard, unlike say, Origi who was just bloody lazy at the start, which is probably why he was so crap to begin with.
Don't spend your life looking at stats or reading match reports, actually watch a game, it can be quite enlightening and enjoyable. You may even see what various players do for the team that is not recorded such as creating space, closing space down, linking play up between others, just the things that make a team work but don't attract fanboys and stat freaks.
I watch as many as I can, unless there is a game on concerning United, City or Arsenal Not sure how many other people watch but I would imagine most don't just see the player who scores the goal, they probably appreciate the other players around him that made it possible too.
Both are inconsistent. When on form, Cout is clearly the better player, more a goal threat in terms of creating chances and scoring them, dictating tempo and generally more exciting to watch. However I'd both are performing par or below, then Lallana probably offers more in terms of work rate and movement, defensively solidity and general passing. He'll take the simple option and keep possession if having an average game where as cout will still try to make things happen and lose the bal if things don't come off. 2 diff players, both have different strengths and weaknesses and have both started this season very well.
@Diego I have to agree with @Jimmy Squarefoot on the lol. Even when Coutinho isn't scoring goals his understanding of the game, passing and movement put him well above Lallana. I don't think that some Liverpool fans appreciate what he does at times.
Yeah he's doing well but I couldn't put him in the same bracket as Coutinho he just isn't at that level. Long may continue at his current level though.
Yeah that was a fair post, I slightly diagree though as I would never take Coutinho off the pitch as I feel that even when playing poorly he could pop up with a moment.
