Hopping get to the USA in those days was the preserve if the very wealthy. Jo chance of a teen to mid twenties doing it. In any case it was a chaotic event which just happened after the plans for the original paying concert at Woodstock went tits up (it wasn't held at Woodstock eventually)and and not much was known over here about it until it had already started. Guess who I would have liked to seen!
Don't know if this is a wind up but I just received a voicemail saying I'd won £250 cash or two tickets to an Elvis tribute night. It says Press 1 for the money or 2 for the show.
Be warned. I got an offer for a new voice on my sat nav. It was Bonnie Tyler. It just kept telling me to turn around, and every now and then it fell apart. I daren't use it for my trips to France.
****ing hell I am old. Although I do have the body of an 18 year old..............in the freezer in my garage.
A few cracking albums have come out on this day. Arthur (or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) by The Kinks came out 46 years ago today. As did In the Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson. Bruce Springsteen's The River came out 36 years ago today. And In Rainbows by Radiohead came out a measly 9 years ago.
So pissed off I missed it...there had been a last minute plan, 4 of us working for the summer in the mines in Northern Ontario couldn't put it together...I was after hearing these buggers...ah well.
