According to Comolli talking to talkSport, the reason he was told he was sacked was because he spent too much money on Henderson. £20mill seems a cheap price for an English international now but was fairly big money then. Still, in hindsight, as many years that he has given us (some of them good), he's been quite the bargain. Certainly not worth firing over... ... Now other signings of Comollis on the other hand...
16mil he spent. btw he might have been told that but the reality is he was sacked over cocking up the suarez affair.
The lads over at salford quays surprisingly missed Henderson being given the captains armband. VOTE: Who should be England captain? We have given you 10 of the likeliest candidates, including Wayne Rooney, while you can also choose 'someone else' or 'it doesn't matter'. But their attempted hatchet job on the lad backfired. 14:09 So Jordan Henderson was the favourite to take the captain's armband... Unsurprising. But a fair number of you concluded that it actually doesn't matter that much who is England captain. Let's discuss this... DOES it matter? WHY not? #bbcsalford are getting increasingly #desperate as Mourinho is being #exposed as a #notactics #fraud playing the same #hoofball as the #tacticalgenius but with an even more expensive #recordsigning
just as I post #bbcsalford are #desperate I head over to have a look and they're celebrating the 7th anniversary of Fergie's testimonial match
I do have some sympathy for Comolli - he's a poor DOF who basically gave Into Kenny's demands (Carroll, Adam, etc). But he is a very good scout with an extensive network. He had ear marked the likes of Matuidi and Aubamayang.
