I dont think they let themselves down on the pitch today. The team gave a good account so did the fans. So the next home game will have a good crowed hopefully like today. The big question, Can we go up?
United fan here, after your performance, would love to see you get promoted, do prado looked really good also. on a seperate note, would you rather keep alex.o.c. or take a big fee??
For myself I would keep O.C and let him get regular 1st team football, this will improve the footballing brain, then he will be a great prospect.
No I don't think we wil go up , HOPE I am wrong though . Winning away 6-0 , then drawing at home , then losing away 0-2 is not IMHO Promotion Form .
Jasp is right, we will have to stay consistent as Brighton are a very tight unit. That said nobody else is beyond us.
Cheers, nice to hear that. If the club is to move forward, keep high attendances and give the right impression to players and fans then they should keep the lad. We won't be able to keep him long term but he can grow (and command a higher fee later on) with us.
Southampton couldn`t even fill their ground against the INVINCIBLES despite 50% of the crowd following Man U. Small club that will forever be in Pompey shadow.
Nice to feel that we really gave Man Utd a scare and a good game. As posters above say though, it is going to be consistency that will get us promoted from this league, and that's playing against teams who won't give us nearly as much time. Wonder if Adkins may just bring in one more new face before the window slams shut tomorrow?
Information: Sunday 2nd September 12. Kick-off at 4pm. Last time between the two: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/9379065.stm Saints narrowly missed out on a cup upset as United fought back from a goal down to win 2-1... Chaplow scored an absolute rocket. My Prediction: 1-0! - (Yes, that is 1-0 to Saints!) I am honestly feeling some confidence for this game and I think we will make it difficult for United to pass the ball around freely. I think a single goal will seal it and I think it'll be a Rickie Lambert header just before half time. My Team Prediction: This is all dependent on transfers up to match day (Current time 15:45 - 29/08/12) .........................Davis......................... Clyne(RB)......Fonte........Hooiveld(CBs).....Fox(LB) ...................Schneiderlin(CDM).................... .............Davis...........Lallana(CMs)............. Mayuka(RW)............................Rodriguez(LW) ...........................Lambert(ST)........................... Subs: Gazzaniga, Seabourne, Richardson, Shaw, Chaplow, Guly, Lee Ramirez misses out due to late signing. And Yoshida will team up with us after international duty. More to follow...
I don't know and I may get slaughtered but I am actually looking forward to this game with a degree of anticipation with us getting a good result.
would have Lee instead of J Rod. Hope Buttner plays so Mayuka can rip him a new one then send him crying back to his daddy. JWP and Davis is a toss up for me, Davis has more experience, but JWP supports attacks better. There is no way that Man U will not score, they are just relentless
1-1 for me. I think we'll play well and score first (J Rod maybe?) but that they'll come back strongly near the end and score.
i'm convinced we're going to win this game. Its just a case of getting the score correct. I'm going to say 3 - 1 to Southampton
This will be my first match of the season, I think Mayuka could give Evra and Rafael a torrid time, I think we could sneak it 2-1.
Don't think late signings will be in the team this Sunday. Adkins will want them assessed and see them in training. The players also will be tied up making arrangements for their move. I have a ticket and am really looking forward to this game regardless of result as long as we play well. The Man City game suggests that a Southampton win is not impossible...could be 2.1 either way.
wow, I'm loving the optimism guys and gals, but I have to throw some reality in there. Can't see much beyond a United win. I'll go 2-2
