Ok, with Trollope officially out of the door and Lennie packed with him. Who next?

    BBC:
The Bluebirds say they will announce a successor in due course with Neil Warnock understood to be among the front-runners.

Get Warnock and we can still make the playoffs!

    You are joking - right?

Warnocks my no.1 choice. But safety is the only realistic aim. 4th bottom and anything else is a bonus.

Tongue firmly in cheek. Although it's only 12 points away!

Surely it's too early in the season to write us off??? I know I am optimistic (Stevo's best mate I reckon) but we have much of the squad that nearly got us to play-offs last season and some additions that could yet come right. Many of you guys have written about bad choices in selection and substitutions and not being set up right. Someone new can solve that little conundrum and we can push on from here. There was so much pessimism recently with even Stevo leaving early and hoping someone pinches his card but this has got to be good news and a chance to move forward. If we can win a few games, I might get off the bottom of the f'in' prediction league too!!!

Hope I'm wrong but I can't see Warnock coming. I don't think he would be willing to work under Tan. Whoever we get I hope it someone tried and tested; kneejerk would be to go for Bellamy and someone to advise him .. Dave Jones? I just don't think this is the right time for that.

Please don't ruin my new found optimism. Leave that to the board when they make the announcement!

As pointed out Slade got us to 8th. Surely somebody like Warnock is a genius at this level in comparison!

I'm a little bit worried that Tan is still obsessed with Man Utd and Giggs is available to lead his hometown club back to the promised land.

I don't care what's next. It couldn't be worse. I've still got the warm glow from the wave of relief washing over me.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a 'manager' further out of his depth.

Warnock the front runner. I really hope we get him, he is a football man through and through and understands the fans. If we get him and still fail it will firmly be at the players door then. I am so so glad Trollope has gone, this now ends a timespan of poor coaches, lets hope Neil is given support and without the transfer committee that appears to be at the club. Onwards

I'm with Satto and Frankfurter if and it's a big if we get the right man, I'm not a fan of Warnock but he knows this league inside out.

He has a handy knack of doing better than his teams should.

just checked the odds on sky bet and Neil is 1/10 which would suggest they have already stencilled his name on the door.

If it is Warnock i for one would expect a massive turnout against the Wurzels.

We need a manager like Warnock. A bit of flair on the touchline who doesnt just cross his arms and sulk when things don't go his way. He would get the best out of players thats for sure!

    Neil Warnock 1/10
    Ryan Giggs 6/1
    Craig Bellamy 10/1
    James Rowberry 14/1
    David Jones 20/1
    Nigel Pearson 25/1
    Roberto Di Matteo 25/1
    Steve McClaren 28/1
    Ian Holloway 33/1
    Steve Bruce 33/1
    Dean Saunders 33/1
    Tim Sherwood 33/1
    Russell Slade 33/1
    John Hartson 33/1
    Steve Cotterill 33/1
    Kenny Jackett 33/1
    Steve Evans 40/1
    Sam Allardyce 40/1 –

Warnock is the obvious choice and with odds of 1/10 there is a suspicion that talks have already been held. If Warnock feels he can't work with the present regime I wouldn't rule out Dave Jones.

John Hartson would never come to us in a million years <laugh>

... And we would never accept him!

I've heard Gary Johnson and Steve Cotterill being thrown in the mix as potential managers.

Oh for the love of God No! However, this is the appointment I expect us to make. Tan has cocked up all three of his previous managerial choices so far during his tenure - don't expect the 4th one to be any differnt

Agreed, everyone talking as if we've already hired Warnock. I genuinely don't think it will happen, although it SHOULD. Tan likes cheap options so really wouldnt be surprised if we ended up with James Rowberry who was in contention when we took on Trollope!
