Fossy, the only reason Kante isn't as effective at the Chavs is because they don't play 'kick n rush'.

Chelsea seem to actually have possession so Kante doesn't need to be a superhero like he did for Leicester, sad but true mate.

The problem is they have 2 of the slowest CB's in the PL.
Kante masked that brilliantly last season. Now they've just got a gaping hole for any team with pace to exploit.

    They look bang average, again.

When you say the current crop how many are you talking about? Don't tell me you've got Morgan on 6 figures <yikes><laugh>

Without the CL the long term contracts won't mean a great deal as you won't be able to keep that many players on '6 figures' and they will want out..

... then you take it wrong ... I was merely offline.

On your specific point, I concede you made no direct mention of the Spurs v City game to my knowledge ... what you did do however was consistent with your normal modus operandi - aligning yourself with just about everything 'HIAG' posts about teams or posters that he has particular gripes along with the obligatory 'likes' to each other ,laugh> ...

Now you called me 'freak' on another of your posts <laugh> ... for what? ... outing you as a likely HIAG persona? ... now why would I think that?

You joined a football forum purporting to be a Southampton fan yet you rarely, if ever, post on their board or appear to take any real interest in your club's games or fortunes...

You did make a few general comments about the Saints Leicester game later on Sunday which anybody could have come up with if they's watched match of the day or Sky sports news. I note you did not answer my question as to whether you actually saw the match? - I think we can safely take that as a no. Bizarrely, the remarks you did make about the Saints Leicester game were not your prime contribution to the board on a day your team had played - indeed they seemed to be almost an afterthought and were prompted by @BuzzardFoxMick 's comments on the game - agian in marked contrast you made numerous posts broadly aligned to HIAG's views about the Liverpool and Arsenal games ...

You are a very strange Saints fan ... one of a kind .... but I'm the freak on here <laugh>

I wouldn't think Wes is on that much no ... but Vardy, Mahrez, Schmeichel, Drinkwater, Musa, Slimani certainly will be ... and Gray, Amartey, Mendy, Schlupp and Kaputska ... will all be on very competitive, lucrative contracts for sure .....

... there are no release clauses ... and Kante (who had one) is the only player that we wanted to keep who has left us since our current owners took over ... Everton and West Brom have shown that you can keep hold of your players if the desire is there ... we are certainly not a selling club these days ... which is great news for the fans.

  7. Hey, Chuckles! This is a quote from the my second post on this thread. It is, in fact, the second post of this thread:-

"The "spiral" refers both to the rise, this season, and to next season's inevitable fall."

    Get it, now?

The spiral was always predicted for this season.

    Please keep up.

  8. Which makes my prediction, made in these second post of this thread, all the more prescient.

There is gravitas in the above.
Purely because you can never be accused of "aligning yourself" with the postings
    of others etc ...

... alternatively labelled as the most open ended 'hedging of bets' post ever - (not that you ever intend to keep to them if you lose) ...

So you are now implying that at the time you wrote that you expected us to go on and win the league? ... <laugh>

The irony is that only by winning the league could this season have little chance of measuring up to last for us (nothing to do with your ultimately very amusing thread) ... given that we were many people's favourites for relegation at the start of last season our club is still very much on an upward spira ... we have laid the ghost of never having won a major trophy in our history - indeed we have gone way beyond that - we have won the EPL title and joined a select group of English clubs ..

I'll take it you will come back post season and admit that if Spurs finish outside the top 3 this time around, your own downward spiral has started?

We will see come May..... we are seven games into the season but you do make me smile Sky....... during last season and throughout the summer you were predicting a mass exodus ala Sotonesque....apart from Kante,it didn't happen ,so rather than hold your hands up to a fail on the scale of your bumchums at Spurs, you instead resort to ridicule of title winning players !
I can however see your reasoning as Sterling did indeed realise that if he was ever going to achieve his dreams of winning titles, he would have to leave Liverpool, which he did and what a decision that proved to be ? It's crazy to think players like slippy G and sick note Sturridge will never win an EPL title........ a fail of Hiag proportions !

.. pendant! <laugh> OK ... broadly I agree ... let's just say we have historically sold the best of our talent whenever someone came knocking - as a means of balancing the books ... but we won't be selling to the likes of Sunderland, Birmingham, West Brom and Wolves again any time soon .. all due respect to those clubs ... they weren't randomly selected ... Matt Piper, Muzzy Izzet, Gareth McCauley, Joe Mattock and Richard Stearman all left us to 'better' themselves ... these days it's Chelsea, Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester United that are coming looking ... and if we were to sell we'd be getting top dollar ... <laugh>

Fossey, we are guilty of the fact for maybe forgetting that in 2014 Vichai said he wanted European football at the KP within five years let alone an EPL league title, so the only way this thread could be a success is if we finished below 14th place, anything else is a plus IMO .
