What's particularly worrying is this statement from the Supporters Trust. A sign of the way the Americans regard them, I think:

"Having been an integral part of the club board for 15 years we are saddened that decisions as major as this can be taken without our involvement, despite earlier assurances from the new majority shareholders that they wished to work closely with the Supporters' Trust. We are also frustrated and angry that the club have allowed the speculation over the manager's future to be played out in public."

As I said before, we've gone from a Club that did everything the right way to being a laughing stock.

Definitely a case of be careful what you wish for. We've gone from a vastly experienced Serie A manager to so-so French league 2 manager.

You may not like my opinion but I'll give it , there were at the last count 10 on this board who wanted Guidolin out that number decreased from 16 ? why do you think that is , could it because they could see an improvement in the way we have started to play , the same players the same manager , a manger who had pretty poor preparation time in getting all the players together , none of his players bought , no support from the snake Jenkins and possibly the hardest start with fixtures since we've been in the PL . no we haven't improved on the results which I accept thats the business we're in but there has been definite signs that we're heading in the right direction up not down . The trouble is with only 3 games played some were calling for his head , so early in the season as well .Now we have a manger who only yesterday was given full support from his players doesn't that say something ,they could see the improvement and were willing to work for him .Now we're starting at ****ing ground bloody zero with someone who has not managed in the UK , nor in the PL with a group of players he knows nothing about ,who may now resent working with a nobody .The guy is like most yanks I've ever met , brash cocky and over confident , this league doesn't take prisoners and believe it it or not I hope he succeeds , not for him but for my Club . So when I say wished then I mean wished because when everyone was screaming for Guidolins head no one mentioned a viable alternative .Well we now have the alternative and god help us .

Phil, but on Saturday evening after the Liverpool match you said you'd come to the conclusion he had to go...

You're like Boris Johnson and deciding which way to campaign for on Brexit !<laugh>

Yes, our Phillip does blow with the wind. Pun intended <laugh>

I was actually in the undecided camp and haven't change my vote. Like I said before I agree that we've improved lately and that's against the top teams as well, so he deserved a few more games at the bare minimum. Even Valley said as much. The timing is piss-poor but when was the last time the Board did anything remotely professional?

Matt's post is a decent one but although many were clamouring for Guidolin's head it was on the understanding we'd have a good appointment to replace him. The fans' anger is directed at that more than anything else.

Listen dear, it was a realisation that he was on the way out, I knew they would sack him, and so it follows we would never achieve anything under him, because he would not be here, got it? but on the other hand I hoped he'd get a few more games, but I did have reservations on his negative football and subs, I always try and support our Gaffer until it becomes impossible, and after throwing the Liverpool game away, it became impossible, because I knew that that game was going to be Franco's Waterloo, so there you have it Taffy dear!!...............<laugh>

They should never have put a Skewen boy in charge of the club!............................

I was reasonably confident we would stay up this season until today now I think we're doomed.. Bradley's high point was getting the USA to finish above England in the World Cup. At club level he has been crap. How can his reocrd have persuaded any one he could manage a PL league club. I am usually prepared to give someone a chance but this appointment has even depressed me. I think Jenkins is now the new yes man..

    http://www.swanstrust.co.uk/2016/10/03/trust-reaction-to-change-in-management-at-swansea-city/

Bloody disgusting treatment of the trust! Bloody inexcusable IMO!!

The Supporters’ Trust is disappointed to say that this managerial change has happened without consultation with our Supporter Director who has been unable to report back to the Trust board on the matter. We have of course been aware of the speculation thanks to the constant press reports but at no stage have we been involved in the decision to remove Francesco from his position nor in the appointment of his successor.

Having been an integral part of the club board for 15 years we are saddened that decisions as major as this can be taken without our involvement, despite earlier assurances from the new majority shareholders that they wished to work closely with the Supporters’ Trust. These representations will be made to the shareholders of the club and our fellow directors.

We are also frustrated and angry that the club have allowed the speculation over the manager’s future to be played out in public and want to thank Francesco and his team for their time at Swansea, in particular the professional way in which Francesco has dealt with the recent speculation. We wish them all the best for the future.

Always happy with your opinion Matt, whether I agree with it or not

I can't speak for others but I wanted Guidolin out because I thought his management style was stifling our team and I thought his selection policy was guiding us to defeat in most games under him.

It is only in the last three games that we've played a recognizable formation. Pre Citeh the formation was unrecognizable, we were all over the place. No one knew their roles or the roles of others and e looked lost, clueless. This has to be laid at Guidolins feet because as coach it is his responsibility to prepare the team sufficiently enough to at least be able to compete and this obviously was not the case.

The Citeh cup game we did revert back to something a little more recognizable. On paper at least, the formation was a good one and catered to our strengths, wing-play as well as a central midfield threat but, imo Guidolins selection in both Citeh games and against Liverpool completely negated the attacking prowess the team possesses.

Imo, Guidolins first selection error was to move Siggy, our best player, away from the area where he is most effective, attacking midfield, out of the way on to the left flank, where he is completely ineffective. This selection decision greatly compromised the attacking threat we had through the middle as well as on the left flank.

The ill-effects of this move Guidolin compounded by a tactical error of changing Sigys vacated AM position into a CM position and giving the role to Fer. So we've lost an attacking midfielder in Siggy and replaced him with a central midfielder Fer and again, our attacking options were are reduced. We also do not gain any defensive benefit by replacing Siggy for Fer because Fer is not a box to box player and doesn't track back effectively.

With our attack on the left and through the middle neutered, defenses could simply concentrate their efforts on snuffing out the right. It didn't matter who played there, Routledge, Barrow, because they were double teamed out of the game.

Imo, Guidolins poor selection completely blunted any attack the formation offered and with no penetration down left, through the middle and with the right winger marked out of the game the results were inevitable imo.

But still we could have got something out of the Liverpool game but alas, the best chance fell to a central defender, but good on him busting a gut to get there, where was every one else? van der Hoorn did get a goal nicked off him when Fer kicked his goal bound effort over the line, so I think some of the criticism he got for his miss was a little unfair. I do think the criticism Guidolin got was completely justified though as he didn't change any thing or make any decisions that would have got us a goal. He just flapped his arms about incomprehensibly on the touch line.

This happened almost every game imo while Guidolin was in charge. I could see our best players played out of position, I could see our players were out of sorts with the system as well as with him and I wanted things to change, for the better. Unfortunately might not have happened with rather uninspiring change at the top.

That's what I saw Matt and why I thought Guidolin wasn't good enough for us. Time tells all so we'll see what happens with Brad but I'm not impressed and to be honest I feel that I'd prefer Guidolin to have been given longer than have Brad here now.

The Trust have been like limp dicks on a honeymoon for a while. They have no say in any major decision. It's a pity they didn't/couldn't have cashed in their 22% share in the Club at an opportune moment in order to buy the Club when/if we are in the lower divisions.

Have to say, this is were I am and was when Guidolin was here. My only regret is that I thought we would have tried to replace him with someone who was an improvement or should I say perceived to be an improvement..

But they have representation on the Board. How can that be 'no say'? They can be out-voted on the Board yes, but their beef is that they weren't even consulted. That can't be right, surely?

My impression from reading stuff on other forums is that they have no say on the major decisions, and that is backed up by the fact that they have stated they weren't even consulted on this one. I'm not sure on the in's and outs of the workings of the Club, but that's the overall impression I have.

Yes, but if the Club is run as a Company (and it should be) there are Board meetings where key decisions are taken. Board members are consulted even if the decision goes against them. That's the way it works. This tells me that the Americans don't give a **** what the Supporters Trust or the fans think.

Like I said before we have now turned into every other club in the division - and there was me thinking we did things a little differently here.

    'Swansea Way' my arse.

From my understanding of it, that is correct. As far as I am aware it was also similar to the takeover when they were kept in the dark by the outgoing shareholders, so it wasn't only the new shareholders who didn't give a **** what the Supporters Trust or the fans think.

Another thing that staggers by this appointment, is that we have sacked a man because of his record and not getting wins, yet we have employed someone whose record is worse this season than the person we have got rid of, yet he is doing it in a far inferior league. There must logic there somewhere. I wonder if the club thought there would be this much uprising and astonishment at this appointment. Swansea City facebook page is in melt down over this.
