Happy to be where we are instead of runaway leaders. Staying in touch with the top puts more pressure on them.
Yeeeesssssss!!! What a fantastic game, I'm still buzzing! I knew that if we could get at them early like Celtic did then their defence wasn't all that great, and we executed that brilliantly. Memo to ManC's future opponents - they don't like it up 'em! Was very surprised, and a bit worried tbh, to see Son start up front, but he did a fantastic job. Never stopped running and pressing, and even some of his hold-up play was excellent. Perhaps might not work as well against a better or park the bus defense but it's a great option to have. <3 <3 <3 Poch and this team. COYS!!!!!
Broke my phone celebrating the second. Only negative from the game Incredible performance. I watched the match again when I got back and it was just as good. One of those games where there's so much to talk about you're just left speechless. Agree with all that Sos said, although I'd have given Rose a higher score, he was up there with Wanyama as near flawless today. Brilliant atmosphere too, I've lost my voice and it's been awhile since that happened at a game.
The second was such a dynamic team goal the kind of moment that football fans live for. The excitement building as each knife edge pass is followed by another. Each pass was like balancing on a high wire and jumping high into the air, we surely must fail at any moment, but no another and another and another and then GOAL! Perfection was achieved in those few seconds as impossible passes were made at impossible speeds. Totally unstoppable Spurs!
As usual, top post from you, and nice insight into how it felt at the ground. However I can't let you get away with the comment above. No. No he doesn't.
Credit to Guardiola for being honest in his post-match talk, unlike countless other Premier League managers who'd spout bollocks about officials and whatever else they wanted to make up to avoid accepting defeat and/or responsibility for that defeat. On the other hand, somebody should probably tell the press that if they're going to keep bringing up De Bruyne not playing, it would be wise to mention Kane and Dambele were both out for us...
I think Kane is part of our first 11, but, just at the moment, Son is playing better so no loss at this point. We need a fit and on form Kane (and Janssen) for the rest of the season though. Interesting who would make way for Dembele. Hard to drop anyone. Sissokko I guess and move Alli forward?
Wanyama as the tank in front of the defence allows / allowed Pochettino to go 4-1-4-1, which means that the Dembele Dier pivot in a 4-2-3-1 is now the plan B. Alli was already forward in the new formation as one of the four. Options, options, options. I'm loving how this season is panning out. Some people don't know what to do with themselves in acknowledging the progress we are making, so we stay under the radar in many ways, still. Underdogs. I like it. They don't expect us to keep it up. Kudos to Jenas for calling it. Now we just have to replicate such performances away from home, and at Wembley.
He was a bit silly with the "3 years" bit (nobody can say Spurs 2013-14 and 2014-15 were of any note) , but credit to him for not trying the "one season wonder" route. "On the other hand, somebody should probably tell the press that if they're going to keep bringing up De Bruyne not playing, it would be wise to mention Kane and Dambele were both out for us" My recent question was whether De Bruyne is the difference between Citeh beating a team and destroying them. Currently it seems the answer is both.
Most things i've read on the game have said something along the lines of "despite missing Kane and Dembele.....". I think the press have been pretty fair in what i've read so far, it was the kind of performance where they really had no choice but to praise us.
yes, you lucked out through an incredible Kolarov own goal. then you parked your juggernaut and that is all..
Pretty sure we scored another one, actually. A Chelsea fan moaning about a team defending well is a little rich though, don't you think? Maybe not this season, admittedly.
Can we pin this ^ somewhere? It's either the worst wum ever or the most tinted glasses i've ever seen.
1. How does one park a juggernaut ?? 2. Good to see you have acknowledged that Spurs are a PL juggernaut (if only there was an article about this ... ) .
