That's one youngster unlikely to feature in the Europa League, then - and, to be brutally honest, I don't know why we didn't negotiate a transfer as he's played for Yeovil for the last three seasons, and I really can't see him stepping up to the first team.

Yeah, I can't really see the point in keeping him and eternally loaning him out, either.
Maybe they're hoping that he'll make a big impact and that we can sell him on for a decent amount, but it seems unlikely.

Spurcat wrote on the old 606 that he didn't think Obika was top flight material...seems he was right.

Why aren't we getting rid then? is it because he's young, english and therefore doesn't take up a spot in the 25 if we bring him back into the fold?

Or will no-one pay out what we want for him (like the rest of the deadwood in our squad?)

Noticed BBC included one of his goals in their best goals of last season thingy. Never really been that impressed by him though, have to agree that he should move there permanently.

We should've moved on Obika last summer - he's clearly not up to Premiership standard and, frankly, he isn't up to Championship standard either.

By the looks of it, with the continual loan moves, no-one is willing to pay up for him so it'll probably be another 'released' departure at the end of his current contract.

I think we extended his contract last month.

In the vain hope that somebody taps him up?
