Match Day Thread Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by PleaseNotPoll, Sep 28, 2016.

  1. Maybe the Yaya of 2 years ago, but he's not been a really dominant force for some time. His best days are past I am afraid - a combination of ego, age and agent!!

GuardiIola has just said 'No excuses, they were better. It's as simple as that'.

I'd expect some stubborn resistance form Burnley though.

Lamela needs to get the brain he had in his head during pre-season, re-installed.
I am also now of the opinion that given what I saw in pre-season + now +
our natural defensive structure, Lloris and Vorm are interchangeable.

But is Pochettino man enough to go hyper rotation and let Vorm have a
PL run-out prior to the League Cup game ??

The boys looked like the real deal today.

Solid defence and a menacing attack sprinkled with a few brick walls and magicians in the middle.

    I'm rolling me a Spliff.

Thought dropping Vorm was wrong cos it sent out the message that if you come in and play really well you may still not keep your place.
But on the other hand it is very hard to criticise the decision cos we have won every league game since Lloris returned.
Remember when Chelsea had Czech and Cudicini as their keepers? I feel like we as as strong as they were in the keeper department which is a good thing.

The importance of a win today cannot be underestimated, it meant the difference between 7 points or 1 point adrift.

Hats off to Pep after a very sporting statement. Ooh I'd like to meet Mourinho's team right now, we'd thrash them.

A great performance from Spurs and we should have scored more, but referee`s continue to be inconsistent, Sterling and Otamendi both deserved second yellows but the referee chose to let them off. It didnt cost us points today, but on another day it may well do.
