Team for the next game

Tymon this season from what I have seen in the U23's has not been at his best, as you find with young players he is on a leveling off period at the moment, needs time to develop further. Certainly too early for first team action, apart from maybe the odd cup game.

 

Yeah he needs a loan move in whatever league he would get first team? League one or two I would say. As I said he isn't even championship level at the moment.

This is no criticism of the lad but the hype is unjustified at present. And there are better players in the u23 team that don't get half as much hype. It's strange

The problem I have with Diomande is that there is no end product. As many have said, he goes backwards, or he goes on a great dribble and then passes to the opposition. What's the point in having an attacker that can run all day, but when he gets towards the oppositions goal, he gives the ball away, or alternatively just constantly passes the ball back? I would say none at all, but that's just my opinion.

 

I think Chaz is right, Robertson has two jobs to do.

Diomande will run back and try and help but it's completely pointless as he has no idea what he is doing as he isn't a winger. Arsenal at home was the most obvious example of it. One point he would mark Walcott run towards the player who had the ball who would simply pass it to Walcott in space. Yesterday too, he would mark a man then decided to wander off in field and leave his man free.

He runs a lot and tries hard, but he can't mark a player and he isn't a winger.

 

Agree with this totally, really had hoped we'd get Brady back, he was the perfect foil for Robertson.

On the other hand, I would have moved Snoddy on to the left and played Abel and Mbokani up front together. I think Abel has to be played through the middle.

 

Aye there was twice in the second half where they appeared to run into each other and nearly gave them a goal.

Agreed its crying out for Abel and Mbokani to play together. Ideal foil for each other.

 

I like the look of that 2nd team you came up with. Hopefully no injuries over the international break.

 

Olley and Tymon need to go out on loan to either League 1 or League 2.

Tymon isn't playing well enough for the U23's, so I can't see him being brought in. I keep saying we should play 352, and would play Clucas Livermore, Hudd, Mason Snodder in midfield, with Hernandez and Mbokani up front. Back 3 Davies, Dawson Harry

 

That's pure fantasy, Phelan appears to rate Keane above Abel, but then again maybe he'll want Abel to feel part of something.

 

Keane and Abel. That could be a partnership of Biblical proportions.
