Yeah, I nearly felt sorry for him and then that interview.... FFS. "Something doesn't feel right. Only my engines are blowing up!" I don't like him I know, but this is an example of why not. It was horrible for him and he had the race in the bag, but the engine blew up. To infer that something dodgy is going on, is behaviour becoming of petulant teenager. Any sympathy I had for him today, vanished in that short interview.
The atmosphere in the winners room and then on the Podium between the drivers is excellent. Great to see the camaraderie. * *maybe because someone is not there
I'm watching while at work and didn't see that. Agree he shouldn't be saying that and it's petulant and childish, though a lot of great sportsman are bad losers.
Riccardo's probably the only guy who the rest of the grid wouldn't begrudge a year of dominance. Hard to say whether it's his pace or his personalty, but he seems to be pretty well near universally liked. He even got Rosberg to loosen up!
He's like a lot of young, talented and very rich sportsmen, who have progressed through life with sycophants telling them how wonderful they are, and how it is always someone else's fault, or a conspiracy, when things go wrong. I don't listen to him, or follow the sport closely enough, to be bothered by his personality, or lack of one, in all honesty. Whether or not he is an arse, based on his ability, and his being British, I hope he can come back from this and win the title, "for Britain".
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/robin-williams-drowning-symptoms-death-113415741.html Robin William's widow talk of his illness which led to his suicide. It wasn't Parkinson's, but a rarer disease which meant his memory was going and he suffered from depression, anxiety and hallucinations. It was only diagnosed after he died. So talented and gave pleasure to so many.
All the talk of luck is wrong. There's no luck in engineering. Someone either on Hamilton's side of the garage, or in the factory, is not doing their job correctly. Not out of malice, obvs, but there has to be a point of failure somewhere.
Exactly what I thought. He is pretty much universally disliked within the paddock. Tells you something.
Or his driving style is making his car more susceptible to failure. That's also a consideration. There have been plenty of 'car breakers' in the past (Mansell comes immediately to mind).
Indeed. I used to find the irony of that absolutely tragic, but now it verges on the absurd in my mind.
Nice to hear this (brilliant) song being used in part of the segment. Funnily enough I was talking to the producers of TGT about using some Fable tracks during the series - it was just after we'd toured with The Cult, and I let them know about the fact they were looking for tracks - they then contacted the producer as well. Now this song has vocals by the lead singer of The Cult, so sod it, I'm going to take some credit for it!!!
I forgot that Francis died I have a massive fear of water and caves, so I found it actually harrowing....almost as bad as watching a Saints match. I'm watching both, but my favourite programme is Victoria....though I accept that is more of a women's programme. Have always been interested in Prince Albert....such a forward thinking man who was interested in science and technology at a time of such advancement and change. We think of the world changing rapidly now, but the changes between the start of Victoria's reign and the end were also massive.
