Does anyone know if it was just shut last night or will it be closed / part closed over the weekend too?
I couldn't get into Pocklington today on my bike, there was a ****ing plane in the way. please log in to view this image
our drivers are on a 40 min detour , they seem to think its gonna be another couple of weeks - i didnt ask haha
It's all about powered flight, Chazz. And having a fixed wing. And forward propulsion by propeller or jet engine. And licences to fly. Materials limitations. Licences to manufacture. Take off zones. And much, much more.
It didn't miss it Ern, it just hit it a bit too fast and bounced off the ****er* *According to Peter Levy, and not quite in those words.
Actually Ernie, gliders (and their pilots) do fulfil many of the criteria you list. Pilots are licensed by EASA and can hold the LAPL (light aircraft pilot license). Looking at the picture I note that the registration is a UK CAA registered aircraft manufactured by Schemp HIrth in Germany. The particular model is a Janus C and one version related to it - the Janus CM - does have a retractable engine with a propellor allowing it to take off and fly under its own steam. Increasing numbers of gliders are now being fitted with jet engines - ace fun.
So its a plastic fake glider? Its so called "planes" like these that are ruining the aviation industry we all know and love. Arseholes. Like hybrid or cross over cars. Be one thing, or the other, don't try to be both, it just makes you look like a ****.
Oh, brilliant. It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and my wife has bought me a ride in one of these plastic bastards at that very club. Really looking forward to that now.
