Does it even slightly bother you that...

I'm wondering how much it bothers you, if at all, that Newcastle fans constantly slate our manager who is a Newcastle fan, I find it spineless.

If I was paid about £2m a year to manage Newcastle I'd want Newcastle to beat Sunderland.

I would however want Sunderland to win every other game they play in. Professionalism's called for and with a salary like Brucies it's perfectly acceptable to be a turncoat.

Didn't you club do this after the Derby at [email protected]? I seem to remember Steve Bruce saying it was distasteful and something like "that just typifies that club" or words to that effect

I dunno, Shameless has been over to their board and his looks a bit different, looks like the genitals of a gonorrhoea stricken chap. Red dots everywhere that bring instant shame upon sight.

Bruce said he was a Newcastle fan as a lad however he had not been to a game as a supporter since he was a teen.

It seems to me its not something he particularly proud of.

Aye - I have been over to their board and now I "am a splendid one to behold", apparently :)

Still narks me when they talk crap about Bruce though. I mean, when it comes to turncoats, they still rate Lee Clark, who is as bad as anyone I can think of offhand. Took the SAFC shilling and then gobbed on us to please some goons at the Cup Final.

Of course not. He was already a professional footballer by the time he was in his teens. How many pro footballers do you see going to matches?

He isn't going to say a nice word about Newcastle or mention being a supporter now he's manager of Sunderland. It would be reputation suicide. He'll try and play it down as much as he can and I really don't blame him. I guess no one will ever truly know how he feels about Newcastle now.

I think its fantastic that all the toon fans have to hit us with is that our manager supported the toon, when he was young and daft.

Watch his face on the 20th if we beat you, see if he cries!!

Chappaz, mate, I can't say how you lot'd like to have, I dunno, Gary Rowell as manager. But to come on here and question why Bruce's knobbed off with NUFC fans after the piss-taking at SJP is a bit thin. And over on your board he's forever being slagged off something rotten. I don't have a problem with that (it's your board), but you mags seem to have a bigger issue with one of your own managing SAFC than we do with being managed by a mag.

    Read:

And I never said anything like that about Bruce managing Sunderland. I really don't care one bit. It's a job and he would have been a mug to turn down the chance to manage an EPL side (and get a hefty wage) just because he supported Newcastle.

So yeah, really, I care as little as you guys do. I was just wondering how Bruce felt about having those ties and what he thinks of our club now, but we'll never know the real truth I don't think.

Thats the funny thing for us having him as our manager. He is quite open to the fact of what he thinks of your lot its what makes us admire him even more. :)

If you don't think that Bruce is going to purposely talk down about Newcastle to please Sunderland fans then you're a bit of a dafty, aren't you?

They may be his true views, but he's always going to purposely try and distance himself from Newcastle and please the mackem crowd, so we'll never know 100% for sure what he really thinks.
