this is so funny, Telegraph clutching at straws here ... so Cellino says he will in effect pay investors their money back, but only through profits made on player sales ... he doesn't say "give me £5m to buy Blarney, and when he is sold I give you £6m back" ... yes, it will piss off the fans if players are being sold at a profit and money is then being paid out to investors, but this has nothing to do with player ownership Telegraph clearly still upset at Leeds for bringing the Busby Babes to a crushing halt, culminating in a relegation and no European Cup appearances for 25 years, so doing whatever they can to drag Leeds down ... coincedence that JFH and Wright are both ex-Leeds? Thing is, Cellino doesn't actually appear to have broken any rules, and unless the Telegraph have a lot more, this will melt away ... Cellino may well have a case to sue these parasites Big Sam, as has been pointed out, represented the FA and the nation, and his comments about Roy Hodgson and others, and the building of Wembley were his downfall ... surely the time has come for this country to start allowing libel cases to be brought against these "journalists" and their "newspapers"? Personally not arsed reading any of it. Bored stuff of the Cellino bashing. Only interested in results on pitch. Shaks has the right attitude imo
Get a grip Glory, totally legal and above board,he even says he's not prepared to break the rules it has to be done within the rules.Should be held up as a bastian of honesty in a corrupt league.
Was about to post that -sums up my feelings exactly - he may be doing the equivalent of tax avoidance rather than tax evasion in terms of legality with this one this but it still shows that he's a total dodgy cnut with no real cash and has his own interests at heart instead of Leeds' which would be OK if he was even vaguely competent/succesful - TTFOM
All Cellino's said was if you invest in the club,I will sell you some shares and if the club does well you can get a % of any profits.Isn't that how all business works ?
No he didn't....he said if you invest 20% you will get it back through player sales....don't you think money from player sales should go in back to the playing squad? He may not be doing anything illegal, but he would be ripping the club off massively!
Actually, he's spot on & pointing out that 3rd party ownership is illegal & you can't get a return with that method. He's saying that if you own shares, you get dividends, and that is how you get your return - just like any club or company in the world. It's a statement of fact & could be easily argued that he's telling them that he will ot have a part in illegal 3rd party transaction. For once, he's actually whiter than white. They're suggesting wrongdoing, he's saying 'no chance - do it the proper way & invest'.
what he said is perfectly legal I understand that bit, nothing to see in terms of being banned. But its not in the best interests of club whatsoever, and just goes to show that he has no real ambition for us and he certainly doesn't care about the fans and keeping our best players.
I respectfully disagree, partly because I have to / want to believe the Telegraph wouldn't publish without proof of wrongdoing. Either way it is not the way someone with the best interests of the club behave and IMVHO as a season ticket holder you should be horrified how he is running the club. You know my views on Cellino this is just more proof of his unsuitability to be an owner of any football club. He is corrupt and we will be corrupt as long as he is involved.
Think he said they would get 20% of the profits,ie if they are sold for a profit in the future,we know Cellino looks on Leeds as a business,he knows that to make big money he has to get us promoted, lets hope he does that then sells.
No I want Man citys owners to own us,but as there doesn't seem to be any interest from anyone with money,he will have to do till then and we've had worse.
