,, personally I think it's time for some 'blue sky thinking' ... for far too long we have trodden an over used path seeking to replicate the acheivements of Sir Alf .... it's never gonna happen ...

Here's my thinking ... the FA appoint Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino in a dual management 'job share' role ... a mixture of German engineering and efficiency combined with Argentinian beef and passion ...

What about the disruption to their current teams I hear you ask? ... not a problem ... we've got Steve Bruce and Sam Allardyce out of work but ready to step in at a moment's notice ... the fit will be akin to peas in a pod ... both have had relatively sound Premiership management careers uncomplicated by trophies ... what's not to like?

Obviously there would need to be a coin toss to decide who goes where etc ... :emoticon-0138-think

Can Wayne still play where he likes, though?...

...there needs to be thorough, rigorous testing of candidates .... one of the interview questions has to be:

"If you were England Manager; where would Wayne Rooney play?"

Tthe model answer is "China" ... but credit might be given for suitable alternative answers ...

Too bad he doesn't seem to want it.

The BBC just did a poll of who people want to be the next manager - some of the candidates on there were laughable -

    Wenger -
Hoddle - Has literally done nothing or managed anyone (besides a brief stint) in 18 years, that was when Wenger was just starting off and revolutionising the game in this country!
    Bruce
    Dyche!!!
    Howe
    Klinsmann
    Neville!!!
    Pardew
    Rainieri
    Southgate
    Shearer!!!

Apparently Wenger came out marginally ahead on 16% with Hoddle and Klinsmann just behind on 15%. On what planet do 10% of the voters think that Shearer has the necessary management skills or experience to manage an international team? The 10 games he got at Newcastle when they got relegated perhaps?

That's more than Pardew or Rainieri had - you know the guy you has just won the Premiership!

I just had a quick look (and I admit I may have missed something here) but it looks like in the last 20 years only two English managers have actually won anything at all - Redknapp and McClaren! That is a crazy statistic when you think of the size of the country, the playing depth, the talented players and the great English teams that have played in the last 20-30 years.

I'd go for Fergie...nice part time job for him.

  8. Ranairi would be a good choice, and good for him, too, as it will give him a credible out of this season's train wreck.

What a dreadful wum fcuk up by Bambi, there!

Pixie (segment head) will never criticise bits of himself, but he will be livid with Bambi about that, and the fact that it has opened the Pixie-pede to howls of derision and ridicule.

Yeah I did think that after I posted <laugh>

I just mean that we'd be even more predictable and it's not exactly a long term solution.

If we're going to go foreign then I'd go for Klinsmann. He played a big part in reshaping German football top to bottom and that's what we need.

With our current set up, no managers going to make a blind bit of difference anyway.

Our problems run much deeper than just the managers/players.

  15. As a door-to-door salesman (double glazing and glass conservatories), who spends half my life hitting the road and living out of a suitcase. you cannot possibly know how ironic your comment is.

Well, now that I have put you right, I daresay that the wumming can stop.

If you were good enough and under consideration, would any of you genuinely take the England job?

And who would be busy nailing their closets shut first? <laugh>
