Mel Morris has sent a message to the team hotel, telling Pearson to go home, despite the fact that they're playing Cardiff in a few hours. Looks like he's being sacked, with Bruce apparently replacing him.
Steve Bruce the most popular manager at the moment, Derby, Villa and England! Probably Newcastle as well if things go pear shaped up there soon!
No-one outside the club knows what's happening in the background but, to be sacked just nine games in is ****ing mental.
Derby County manager Nigel Pearson suspended... http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/der...on-suspended/story-29755666-detail/story.html
If true, bet Tom Ince's face will be a picture at the thought of Bruce's arrival! Would love to be a fly on the wall in the Ince house.
"His blunt style" = zero personality Derby or Villa...Brucey has some decisions to make....unless one of the take MP off us!
I don't know much about Mel Morris but I wonder if he's one of these 'I'm a self-made squillionaire so I obviously know more about everything then anybody else does'? Tough old game football management.
Derby - Club Statement Derby County can confirm that Manager Nigel Pearson will not be carrying out his duties at tonight’s game at the request of the club. Assistant Manager Chris Powell will take charge of the team for this evening’s Sky Bet Championship match at Cardiff City. The club will make no further comment at this time. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/club-statement-3332077.aspx#zbLYb8KAxi1SbeVr.99
If I may, I'm gonna hazard a guess? I think the Derby dressing room has a lot of very large ego's - I'm guessing he's ruffled some of them.
Aye but it smacks of something disciplinary, rather than **** off you're useless and sacked. More than meets the eye.
Just had a quick look to see what they're bleating about on Ramstalk.... Many blaming Mel Morris for being an interfering impatient bastard, some correctly pinpointing the serial bottlers that is the Derby County squad, and some seizing on the 'disciplinary' aspect of the announcement which makes no mention of poor results. Has he rowed with with Morris? Has he not dressed in 'the Derby Way'? Some of their poodles are saying Pearson 'didn't want the job'. So in another words, no **** has a clue really.
Did he not flush the bog at Cott before he left us? I have a dream ....that one day all managers will be judged on results, not tactics or media personas......
