He has to stay for me, his impressions of Mr Glum when faced by the media are his only downside IMO. He has to be given time and am convinced he will get it right, but we must not get cut adrift before the January window.
Definately a Mib with a capital M - I have concerns that's all - Saturday debacle did not help but hopefully he has learned a few things - onwards
I don't understand the bloke. I think he's very strange. In fact, I get the impression that he's still carrying psychological baggage from his experiences at Man Utd and maybe Real Sociedad. I think there's plenty he hasn't got right so far and that blaming limited budgets only tells half the story. However, he has shown that he has the ability to get a club to where we want to be and so he has to be given time to achieve that. No matter what happens, we can't carry on with this continual cycle of hiring and firing.
Appalling that we're even contemplating this. It's the ****ers leaving on 82 minutes when it was still 2-2 and we were still firmly in the game that are the poison at this club. Things aren't right at the moment, but this talk is not helping.
these guys pay their money, and are entitled to vote with their feet, after watching inept performances, bearing in mind all the things Short has thrown at us during his tenure, .
Mib for me. Judging by results = terrible. Judging by performance/individual errors= not too bad. Anybody care to remember how long it took SA to sort things out. Moreover, since the defence has been under special scrutiny, we still have the defensive coach from SA's days and Yedlin and Kaboul were bit players in our last survival.
Sunderland fans do this even when we have played brilliant. There is no other fans in the country come close to us regarding leaving games early.
I'm on about this all the time mate, I've seen folk leaving on 70mins, many of them. I wouldn't care it's not bad getting away from stadium even if driving, it baffles me. I've left one game early, a 0-4 to Spurs at Roker Park where we just wanted to go and get smashed, we sat in the Red Lion full of regret we'd left. 'Support', no. By the time it went 2-3 it was madness how empty the place was, what's to say we didn't pinch it?
Two things here. First, I wasn't very clear on my feelings about Moyes. If he can finish this season at 17th or higher, I'm 100% mib - he does have the pedigree If we go down i'm 110% mob. I've seen every relegation since our very first, hated all of them, still hate all of them, and have absolutely zero tolerance for it. We're the eighth biggest spenders in the EPL so don't tell me it's Short's fault. Secondly, I don't remember any "paedo claim" - what was that all about? I do remember giving a cast iron eye-witness account (very fleeting, admittedly! ) of something similar. And then 'the Sunderland thing' happened, i.e. guys who weren't even borne at that time decided whether it was convenient or not to believe it, and to give their gold-plated wisdom on the matter. That's the thing on here, isn't it? - a cast-iron eye-witness account that doesn't suit becomes "a claim". And a claim with a load of outstanding evidence to the contrary, but seems convenient (like the Gyan chain of events) becomes "a fact". As you say, I did leave everyone else to clear the mess - but then, why not? You guys created the bloody mess, why should I be bothered? I told the truth and walked away - pure and simple. Take it or leave it. I didn't **** anybody all over. You did that to yourselves.
Here you're saying it was a fleeting thing that you saw but my recollection is that you were confident that it happened regularly and even considered going in for it yourself. You definitely didn't say that one time you briefly glimpsed something dodgy.
I did say I scarpered fast enough! I'm afraid your recollection's wrong. It was a known thing on the Fulwell End mind - I did say that.
Yeah fair enough I found the thread and what you said was " I didn't fancy it, but I've no gripe with that old guy" so I was wrong about that, apologies. Leaving aside your lack of gripe with the old guy, can you clarify on if it was a quick glance or something regular that you saw?
Well, respect to you for bothering to check, Nacho. No worries about what you said either. And yes, I will try to clarify things. My personal experience amounted to a very, very, very quick glance I don't have a gripe with him though - he posed a question (physically rather than verbally) and I gave him an answer (physically rather than verbally) by scarpering. There was no harassment, no hassle, and I was hardly 'scarred for life' or anything fashionably modern. But it was certainly a known feature of the Fulwell End at that time. I reckon I must have had about five or six older guys pointed out to me to 'stay away from'. It worked. But, of course, it would work in the opposite direction to some extent as well. Some teenagers would be attracted to those guys for whatever reason (mischief, experiment, curiosity - ha! make your own list of reasons why teenagers do stupid things. There must be a thousand reasons). The modern Sex Offenders' List will doubtless work the same way - there's always going to be the 'naughty' teenager who reads an offender's name and address and thinks ...tonight! Anybody who thinks they're going to obliterate human nature is tackling a very enormous animal. It'll always be there.. Thanks for your fairness and courtesy, Nacho. And if you want to discuss this further fire away mate.
MiB 100%. let's just stick with one manager and give him a chance ...I'm over this constant changing the manager.. Can't even be bothered to talk about it, too early for this talk..
Can we put this... "There was **** loads of child molestation in the stands, everyone knew and no one did anything" topic to bed. ****ing embarrassing whether it's right or not.
This whole thread is ridiculous, from start to end I wonder where you'd be now, had Short put his long term faith in Keane or Di Canio.
When was the last time we finished 'mid-table?' A good percentage of the players that finished last season weren't available due to either injuries or being away and returning late so he was always going to struggle in the first few matches. Plus, apart from Boro, we have been beaten, as have most other teams who have played them, by Man City, Spurs, Everton and even Palace. Hardly time to lynch the bloke IMO. Plus, do we just continually sack every manager we get until we get Mr Right? we need stability mate, not another manager merry-go-round.
