I know this point has been debated many a time but Short needs to take a long hard look at the way he's running the club.

It is, really, getting beyond a joke. For the last four seasons, we have not won a game before the end of September. That cannot be pure coincidence.

It seems he is following the Randy Lerner way: try and do things on the cheap but producing the irony of costing more money in the long run, with mistake after mistake building up a large debt year on year.

The similarities don't end there. Short replicates Lerner with a distinct lack of comment about the situation Sunderland are in. Yes, once a year, we hear how he wants to make the club great etc etc. However, those words are not backed up with actions.

Also we have the situation with Allerdyce. Yes the FA messed us around, But, his reaction to Allerdyce's leaving was just petty, refusing, until the last moment, to acknowledge Big Sam's achievements:he did more in a few months than had been achieved by the club in the previous five, or six, years. After that, we had Short saying how Moyes had been his number one choice for years. Pettiness doesn't begin to describe that reaction.

I know it's early in the season and Moyes could turn things round, given time. However, if he's having to rely on has beens such as Pienaar and Anichebe, relegation will be beckoning at this season. These no doubt would be decent squad players but having to rely on this type of player is laughable.

Short needs to effect massive change and quick. I know it's probably unlikely but I suppose we can hope.

    Rant over!

I know what your saying, in terms of ownership but its the fans' club and he is merely the temporary guardian. He needs to change things.

If Short has spent years yearning to employ Moyes, then surely he must match his belief in the man with giving him some spending power. I would hope that even by now he has told him he has X amount for January - so start drawing up your requirements so we are ready for the window. I think this window more so than any other could define and be the make or break , not just for this season, but for this era in the clubs history. The big problem of course is that even if the money is put up, would we able to persuade good players to come anyway.

Short's brought in a proven manager at this level.

He's spent some money on players the manager wanted to improve the squad. Maybe he does the same in January.

We need to break the cycle of losing our manager every year or we need to go down and rebuild something solid. We're on creaking ice and have been for years. Something has to give. Hopefully we still up and Moyes can build. Otherwise I'd like him to stay if we do go down. Simply for the fact that we need one man in charge for a few years.

If we are obligated to buy Manquillo if he reaches 25 appearances, then we have that £13m to buy a genuine £13m RB in January.

Its easy to say Short out. But the reality is something else.

I want Short to go on the radio or T V and explain himself and apologise to the fans, and we could ask him where is he taking us.

I think this window has summed Short up. Allardyce going to England and that can't be blamed on Short. What are the chances of England coming in for the Sunderland manager ffs? However the writing looked on the wall re a small transfer budget anyway. I remember Allardyce saying he wanted to get his business done quickly and yet no one came through the doors, David Santon appeared to be the only attempt. Add to that the clubs unwillingness to pay for M'Vila and we are starting to build a picture before Moyes came in.

£8 million for a lad who has played in the prem' for a season and the fans like - no
£8 million for a Chelsea reserve with no premier league experience - yes

Where is the logic? Now I know M'vila was free by January but the club failed to grasp that they were getting a good player relatively cheap still and one who would have a sell on value.

Short to me is out of his depth, He knows very little about football and appears to be a bean counter, it's all excuses about past managers and wasted money. However he oversaw all of this and doing it on the cheap constantly doesn/t work. We now cannot compete with the likes of Watford, Bournemouth, Swansea, Stoke, Boro, Newcastle, Villa. Make no mistake Short will be making money out of Sunderland. Yes I know you will say he has written debts off with his own money. This will be seen to be true or not once he leaves.

He cannot compete and should be looking to bring in other investors to help bolster the club. Quite frankly I'm sick of a lack of ambition. I'm sick of countless managers, I'm sick of people coming in behind the scenes on mega bucks who know seem to achieve nothing yet get paid very handsomely like Margaret Byrne.

We will be relegated this year. I don't think Moyes is up to the task. There is something very wrong at Sunderland and money has poured out of the club with out any real plan. In short, Short is on the brink of ruining this club forever. Not on purpose but by complete incompetence. Just my view. I've had enough of him. Short Out.

Maybe. But i have not written us off yet. 6 games ffs.

It may happen, but to throw the towel in already is daft imo.

Agreed up to the last paragraph, though it wouldn't surprise me one bit if we did go down this year. It's defo a relegation battle.

I ****ing hate Short. He's dragged the club further and further down with shocking decisions and judgement, to the point where we are about as appealing as a bowl of hot piss.

We will never progress with him in charge, never. M'Vila, as I said in deadline day, was his last shot with me.

Short-sighted as **** and we are the second weakest squad in the league despite the genuine quality of the first 11.

    He's absolutely clueless.

well said Monty, but the sneaky twat wont do that, the only clubs that stay up are the ones investing in better quality players we are penny pinching and always in the ****, yes we have had a few good buys but we always sell for a good price Kone being the exception, its the man with the money who decides our fate, and he wont invest always wants the bargain basement deals. **** Short he is just a tight arsed ****

I quite agree but unfortunately we are stuck with him.
He was one of the strongest supporters of FFP.
He's petrified of breaking it while the likes of Man C don't give a **** about it.
