Jesus, the team has played well. We've been unlucky and the ref is a c*nt. This is a massive improvement from the swans. We're not playing stoke out there today.
Nobody is criticising the team, it's Guidos inability to make the offensive changes before conceding that's the issue. Why wait until the opposition always score? We could all see it coming. We also knew he wouldn't change a damn thing until they scored too.
Any positives from a very good display have been absolutely wiped out as Guidolin reminds us all what an absolute clown he is. Ki on, Fer gets 90 minutes, no Baston. Montero might as well have worn a pair of cloggs on the bench for all the chance he has of getting a game. The players are trying, their doing their best but under this joker they don't stand a fekkin chance.
Might as well get something out of his time here. It wont stop him going in January, all it means is that we get to make more money off of him when he does.
Positives van der Hoorn and Amat Cork and Britton Improved performance from the players. They looked better in defeat today than they have done all season so far. I don't think well go down but the pendulum has swung and we are no longer a top half of the table team, but we'll avoid relegation and finish 13/14/15 imo. Dissadvantages, can't be arsed. To the offy and a bottle of Douro
I'm criticising the team. The passing was atrocious all too often. We look as if we might be dangerous and then instead we just make a sloppy pass. It's infuriating. I just don't think you can slate Guidolin for the players giving the ball away all the time. I'm not defending Guidolin, because I just don't agree with his team, substitutions or tactics, but the players are to blame for a large amount of the problems on the field.
But our passing is poor because we are too narrow, and it's easy to squeeze us on the ball because there's no pace in the side. Guidos tactics and selections are stifling us.
Aye, but I thought it was deliberate. I thought it was a penalty, but the ref got it wrong and he should have been sent off.
Best game I've seen from us all season, Llorente will now have confidence and his hold up play was great, Baston should have come on earlier, bit unlock with the penalty, as we were looking up until then to get something from the game, very encouraged by that shift, so I'm not going to be picky today with any player, though Siggy still not up to his best.............
I wish Ki was brought on earlier - his passing and distribution was way better than anyone else in our team. Sigurdsson had no effect and Cork was too sloppy. Ki has been crap so far this season but showed he is capable when in form like today. I, like everyone else it seems wants to see us have a go with Montero and Barrow on from the start along with Borja and Llorente.
I'll have to see it better to argue the case because the stream wasn't clear. The ref most probably thaught that VDH impeded KDB. Even the city loving commentator said it was harsh.
One of their full backs from early on was on a yellow, so he waits almost 30 mins in the 2nd half & obviously as per normal, until we've gone behind, before he brings on a speedster (Barrow), to possibly exploit this. Not forgetting also, they have the suspect keeper in possession!!!! But more baffling is his 2nd choice to bring on Ki, a renowned 'gamechanger', not!!!! Not only that, he changes him for one of the players' who give us some sort of defensive shape, Cork. So, all of a sudden were behind & at risk of being wide open too. He compounds that, by removing the other player that does the similar role to Cork in midfield, Britton, for the Borja change. Surely, Fer could've been the obvious choice there. It's all predicable, reactive & lacks any 'balls' & nouse to grap a game, especially when the players have done their bit. He's truly baffling, all the time Montero is losing more & more match fitness, get the guy out now please... There's no great shame losing to Citeh, but we can all see 'what' he doesn't 'appear' too, that's the damning evidence for me...
I've just completely had enough. There is little to no entertainment watching this negative bellend stifle us every single week. Why the **** is Routs starting ahead of Barrow and Monty? Its baffling! Man City were there for the taking today and its a massive opportunity to play wingers missed.
But we're not lined up in our best attacking formation for me & also don't have our best possible 11 starting any game, that's Guido!!!!! Maybe the players could then get into their 'stride', passing wise. They played well today, give some credit, it's just the one on the touchline is the main problem...
A game that we deserved to lose no doubt but with better tactics, team selection and substitutions we might have made more of a fist of it. The pen was a pen for me, although a soft one. Haven't seen the TV replays yet but it looked like a high elbow from v d Hoorn. May have to see it again but he made the ref take a decision. A much improved performance all round but Cork must surely practice at giving the ball away. His pass completion % must be in single digits. Very frustrating for me. Great to see Llorente on the score sheet but yet again I'm baffled with the decisions of a very reactive manager. No width at all then at 1-1 it was obvious to anyone watching we were going to concede but he waited for it to happen and then made some changes another 15 minutes after that! Expecting Barrow to change things with 15-20 minutes to go is ridiculous.....and where the **** was Montero? So, mixed feelings for me. I thought we defended reasonably well for most of that game and there's no shame in losing to the future Champions (and they will be) but two principal things need to be put right imo: 1: Our players have to return to our old ethos of not giving the ball away. These days it's inevitable that we will - frequently. If players aren't able to pass the ball accurately and at the correct pace drop them. 2: Guidolin has to wake up and stop being so reactive. Waiting for things to happen is no good at all. The best managers are two steps ahead and see what needs to be changed before events overtake them.
