its bollocks IMO , it all happened in 1873 or something , why then dont the FA trudge through Rio's twatts and historically slap him with a wet haddock ?!?! Its a joke when a diving tosser who genuinely brings the game into disrepute is (if unseen by the ref) exonerated by their peers on MOTD & has their thighs stroked by Shearer , yet a 700 year old tweet is unearthed by Baldrick and he is outed as a murderer
As much as it's a ridiculous decision and I don't agree with the ban. This is a ruthless league and as they're a relegation rival I'm glad it's happened. He's without a doubt their best chance at getting points. So I'm glad he's banned. Missing Watford, Arsenal, Saints and Everton. It's very possible they'll get 0 points from that. And if after 9 games they're on 4 points they'll already start playing catch up.
They've made an example of him to make players think twice about the stuff they put up on social media, it's not the first time, Balotelli was also banned for dodgy tweets.
They've made an example of Burnley more. Not that 'making an example of someone' is the best way for justice anyway, though it is the way of this country to try and instill fear. They should do a '**** the FA' chant.
Well at least we can agree that the actions of the owners a year or so ago can all be forgotten about now and we can move on. Time is a great healer isn't it?
I honestly can't believe people think this is a harsh judgement. He advocated killing homosexual people and it's a disgusting thing to say. End of. When he said it is completely immaterial. I honestly don't know why any famous person has a public social media account other than to bask in the adulation and if he's ****ing stupid enough not to delete previous tweets as he became more famous then he's only got himself to blame for it blowing up in his face. People look up to him whether he or you like it or not and I honestly think it's lenient. If i was a Burnley fan I'd want him sacked.
Do players still get fines and suspensions for saying the ref was a big 'ol pile of dogshite in less colourful terms in post-match interviews? I think that's quite ridiculous. You can have ****s on MOTD criticise your individual performance, even accuse you of cheating, but as soon as you or your manager criticise the ref the FA fines and suspends you? Seems like double standards to me and a ****ty one at that.
