    So was driving back late last night and was dark doing about 80 on main road... and then suddenly saw a police car parked up with dude outside it with speed gun.. so annoying because it's in a place where I know they sometimes are but I'd never seen one late at night so didn't even think about it. Didn't see it until was literally alongside either because it was dark. What a pain.

    Now got the dreaded wait to see if got caught or not <grr>

    Nah, fact guy was standing outside car with speed gun in assuming would get anything in post rather than them sitting there and going after and pulling over speeding people.

    I had been at pub as well.. but only had 1 and was about 4 hours before I then drove so should have been fine if they did.

    Just hoping i was only doing about 75 and were others going faster that got caught lol

    Maybe - I still wouldn't relax though until I'd gone a couple of weeks without the letter. With static cams they just send one out, because the camera can't chase you, not so sure about the hand held ones.
    It could just be a speed monitoring exercise anyway.

    I agree with Saint @InBiscanWeTrust , I wouldn't relax yet just to be on the safe side. Stew over it for a couple of weeks, keep one eye on that letterbox, watch the minutes/hours/days pass by. Once the two weeks are up...it could be late in the post, so I'd give it a month. It's probably sent to the wrong address or misplaced. Now the debt collectors have it and the bill has run into £1000s.

    So don't worry about it mate, camera was probably broken. <ok>

    Maybe last century they would. Nowadays they just send a letter.

    They don't have the time/resources to chase folks down anymore.

    Theoretically, you could go out in the morning with no points and be banned by the time you get home!

    Unless they had a camera guy too... well theres no proof you were ever there. If you saw no flash and he didnt pull you over then hes prob not bothered.

    Remember you said about 80. Your speedo is prob a liitle fast anyway and it might have been 75 or something in his gun.

    They are looking for road warriors going 90 or 100 to bother chase as its a right faff to get back in position etc etc.
