Mentioned to a friend after the Arsenal match how he basically was playing like an English Kante so funny to see the comparison made again.

Brilliant article. Sam deserves all the plaudits for his displays thus far including last season. I do think this is now his best position. He was magnificent on Saturday, nice to see he is getting the recognition he richly deserves.

To think some of our 'fans' referred to him as 'Clueless' - Who's laughing now?

I did a keyword search to find out, but unfortunately the first 8,000 links were all about Ehab, so I'm none the wiser.

Lets not get carried away. When Sam plays in a two in CM then you'll be able to judge him better. As it is he reads the game well, has good technique etc but is in effect shielded by Hudd and Meyler.

It was Cheshire les that kept abusing him and others.

I saw him play pre season for chesterfield and wasnt impressed. I said as much first few games then said credit to Steve Bruce for signing him he proved me wrong.

Lets not also forget his form dropped off considerably after January. So much so Snodgrass switched to the left and Elmo went RM. Sam didnt make the starting eleven for the Play Off Final.

Be great for him if he did get called up, lets hope he does.

I've already admitted to being the guilty party who called him Clueless and said at the time that I liked the way he played but others were too quick to criticise him.
I've also given him a new name of Cluclass now (TM).

One of the few who had full faith in him from the start. With McShane and Quinniesta gone, I needed a new fave player (who just coincidentally also happens to be ginger, honest) and I liked the cut of his jib from day one.

I said the first time he played CM that it was his position, he reads the game brilliantly, just like Kante it's like there are two of him. Still think he's a poor LW though and he shouldn't ever play there if we can help it.

Does anyone know what sort of contract Clucas is on? Do we need to offer him an improved deal before Jan?
