    Been mole pumping <yikes>

Apparently discussions took place yesterday between CB's representatives and Cardiff City, but nothing was decided, although the club have made a "substantial" offer. The door is certainly not closed, although with Sunderland, and now Blackburn reported to be interested the agent is reported to be looking at "other options". The rumour is this is just "agent speak" as we all know where Craig would rather be, but the worrying part is that "Whilst Craig's preference is to finish the job that he started at Cardiff, at this stage in his career he would obviously have to consider a permanent move to a premiership club, (this has a frightening ring of truth,<yikes>)" rumours about him moving to WHU or Leicester, are just that rumours, Craig has ruled out a move to any other championship club apart from Cardiff, if a permanent move to a premiership club doesn't materialise, and Cardiff and Man City can't reach an agreement, well Craig is prepared to sit out his contract at Man City......although he could be tempted into a move into Dutch football, as he is a great admirer of the Dutch Eredivisie, but with Dutch clubs being skint, well this is unlikely to happen.

A mutual mate has been trying to get hold of Craig, but suprise, suprise.......he's not answering his phone <ok>

I don't know what the "substantial offer" is, but the rumour is £35 - £40K a week, but could be higher if we can get Craig on a free.

Don't shoot the messenger lads, you've got it as I did <ok>

    cheers Proph.
I know (or at least I understand) he loves all things Feyenoord but I can't shee him playing the shexy footballsh any time soon.
I think this one will drag on till the last minute.
I'm probably in a minority here (possibly of one) but the excitement of this move has long been replaced by apathy. Don't get me wrong, I will LOVE IT!!! (a la Keegan) if he signs but until then my focus is on what we've got.

Ridiculous that a club in your position is again considering forking out that kind of money when you're in the Championship. It didn't work last time and then you had 7 other Prem loanees to play with him.

I see, once again, you've selectively overlooked the fact that this is just A RUMOUR to score your sad little points View attachment 6214

Care to elaborate, with facts/sources etc, on what "in your position" means?
Any more Championship standard players being lined up to grace the Liberty?

I'll stop there, two questions should give you plenty to ignore for now

What position is that then? A club with wealthy owners, that are steadily servicing old proven debts, that have some equity in a stadium to which they have title, and have sold more season tickets than "premiership" swansea?

A ridiculously small amount of season tickets sold for a "premiership" club, a club in conflict with a lot of the local coucillors because they haven't paid their rent on their rented stadium, and with a history of not paying their debts, Tell me is Huw Jenkins company out of the clarts yet? In the best swansea tradition the administrators were looking at them.

You just missed an excellent opportunity to say nothing...........why am I not suprised?

Aussie...stop embarrassing yourself. We have a higher salary budget than you...get over it.

I have to say well done to the club and the owners here. They have done as well as they could do to get Bellers and if it doesn't work out...well so be it.
I would love to have him here, but i think we may as well accept that he probably will not be coming. In any case, we should be planning for him not being here which I think Malky has done.

I think he'scoming too but a part of me thinks we should be looking at three or four players on 12 k a week rather than.

That's a fair shout GLAM, but unless you're talking about loanees again <yikes>, those 3 or 4 players would have to be bought, and that means cash up front.

I think the hope is that we could get Bellers on loan for the season again at those sort of wages, and then he would be a free agent. <ok>

I think we have out fair quota of 12k players brought in and need Bellers regardless of salary to add pace and guile which he has in abundance we have all seen what he is capable of and i believe he will be the catalyst to push the club within the play off berths i certainly cannot see any player out there who for 12k pw could have anywhere near the suitability within the team to bring to the table what Bellers would bring .

Good point GLAM, and you're probably dead right. But I'd love to see Bellers back under the new regime playing alongside players (hopefully) that have their eye on Cardiff City and not their next career step.

i remember last year he rejected a move to go to wolfsburg under mcclaren, so i think you can safely rule out a foreign move.

he's 32 i think, so i really have no idea what he wants now - he made it out that he loved the lifestyle of playing for cardiff, though admittedly he level is top 8 of the premiership. he has possibly 2-3 years left of top level football with all his injuries so logic would suggest he would want to spend his years in the PL. however he went all against that last season by dropping down a division after being class for man city so i give up <laugh>

Bellamy has had to wait until his club were able to sit down and discuss the matter with him and various other players they need to offload.

The stance was always to refuse any deal apart from Cardiff and wait for the transfer window to slam shut so they have no chance of selling him anyway.

On the 1st.Sept. they then have a player they can only loan out or let go on a free and pay up his contract.

This is a game of poker and Man City will find out Bellamy has the winning hand.

At some point Man City must offload a lot of players and every club is waiting for that to happen after the transfer deadline when they simply must take what they can get. Where anyone at that club got the idea they could dictate to the players where they had to go for less money is beyond me.

I take your point Glam, but a team of reasonable standard championship players need just that spark of class that someone like Bellamy can provide to help them to kick on to the next level, Bellamy leads by example (if anything he tries to do to much!) and the players we have can only improve by playing with a higher standard of player, and as we saw last season at championship level Bellamy scares the life out of the opposition, wer obviously have to plan for life without CB, but I would feel a deal more confident if he was on board <ok>
