Similar to the first pair I wore. First football had a leather lace. Really painful if you headed one on the lace especially on a cold and frosty day or worse still on a rainy and muddy field when it picked up weight.
So anyway, what exactly is that on your head? Looks like underpants to me. That's it, you're a freemason aren't you? Yes you bloody are. Now get me a job doing something I know **** all about but get paid loads for it. Good man there
The continental boots were pretty much the same though - only black with silver writing on as I recall. I really wanted a pair but my dad couldn't afford them so I got some similar looking baseball boots. Not much good for football but looked the part from a long way off.
You were lucky... At our school (Well, I say school, it were actually a mass grave on Orchard Park). We didn't play football, they made us play rugby. My boots were Grandways carrier bags with cellotape wrapped round. Whenever you touched the funny shaped ball but didn't score a try, the coach would make you eat the school dinners, made by leprosy sufferers... etc
