I like the Sunderland alternative kit. It is better than most clubs who choose black, or white which is boring in the extreme. Well done Sunderland in that respect and not following the herd in their choice of second kit!
The PVA situation is one of the funniest things I've seen in a build up. Moyes cagey answers afterwards look set for the drama to continue. Got to love Sunderland, has there ever been a bigger comedy club?
4pm West Ham United v Southampton (Sky Sports) Referee: Jonathan Moss Assistants: A Halliday, E Smart Fourth official: C Pawson
Have we? I take it all back then, although he's the next worst after Lee Mason, though Roger East pushes him. You may not believe it but IMO the rest aren't bad.
Good record or not, he's prone to bizarre decisions. But I have to add, I much prefer him to East/Mason.
All referees are to be fair. But he did play non-league football so Moss is good at communicating with the players.
Moss isn't worse than East. I'm watching MOTD and East had a bit of a mare v Arsenal. Moss isn't a bad referee IMO.
I thought he was unlucky, he goes down anticipating the challenge (that sounds wrong, but it is also seen every bloody weekend), but the guy is sliding in full speed. So typical for Shane to get a card rather than a pen. See what you think.....
WIth the Long booking I'm happy to go along with the referee's decision but it would be nice if every time you saw similar it resulted in a booking and a free kick. We all know the next time a player does that against Saints it'll be a penalty, there's the rub. It's a cheap and easy cliche but more consistency would be lovely.
I'm quite a fan of Mr Moss. Seems very reasonable and much more of a sense of humour than some of them. Vin
Well, if we are looking for a sense of humour, then why not put Peter Kay in charge! Moss, as likeable as he may seem, makes big game changing wrong decisions. I just hope he has a quiet day.
Not nearly as many as some referees. He's in the middle bunch of referees who aren't at the elite level but neither do they embarrass themselves on a regular basis. He will made bad decisions, they happen but he lets the game flow and he gets on well with the players.
Here's one for all the oldies on this forum. Anyone play footy in the old Sunday morning Commercial Houses League between 1985-1987? If so you probably played against Roger East and therefore me. Sorry I'm a bit bored tonight, although it is sort of on topic.
