After playing 4 away games, 3 of them against Arsenal, Cheslea and Spurs and only one home game against the champions, Liecester, we have a very respectable 10 points and arguably deserve all 15. We're playing great football, albeit a little suspect at the back. We're, in my opinion, in good form.

    What about the rest?

City look good......although they've had 3 relatively easy home games.....the Utd game was key to show their credentials.....which they did

Utd themselves have looked solid, if unspectacular. Ibra has, as he always seems to, knocked in the goals but against City, they didn't look mobile enough. Can Ibra last a season? Note: Utd losing to Watford as I type with 30 minutes left. Could they still be short for top 4, even after spending all that money!!??

Everton have looked solid. I like the way Koeman sets out his teams....and with money at the club, he can keep his star players. Spurs look similarly solid.

Arsenal....they've recovered from the loss to us and look like..well, Arsenal!! Still missing a top striker imo....they've needed one for as long as we've needed a left back <yikes>

So the current top 7 are the 7 largest clubs in the country. All have recruited top coaches. All have money to spend. It looks ominous for the rest.

Of those, West Ham and Southampton have been disappointing....they've really offered very little so far after such successful campaigns last year. Stoke haven't got going at all and look like relegation candidates already...but it's still early and I expect all 3 clubs to climb the table.

Finally, there's Leicester. I think they did well to hang onto the majority of their squad for this campaign and they're sitting in mid table...exactly where if expect them to be. However, I can see them causing some problems in the CL if they keep their key players fit. The league and even top 6 may be beyond them with the added pressure of European football....but don't quote me on that!!

I think city might walk the league but I think t could be tightest battle for top 4 seen in a long while. Us, Chelsea, arsenal and Spurs look like will be there or thereabouts and Everton atm look like could have good season although not played any big teams other than Spurs day 1

Agree, City look nailed on for the league right now. Can only hope that there are a few twists and turns to give others a chance.

Utd lost....what price them finishing outside the top four??

We didn't deserve anything from the Burnley game but should have had all 3 off the Spuds so it's 12 for me.
City are looking good atm but you never know with them. Everton are doing well under Koeman and I think they'll be more solid than of late. The others are the usual mixed bag so we need more time to judge.

I'm beginning to think that despite all the money throughout the PL, this season might consolidate into a top 7 0r 8 then a bit of a gap to the rest.

I think we have seen two managers instantly get their ideas across and players respond at city and everton. Then weve seen two other managers wonder exactly what is thier best team and how to set up... which is funny.
Chelsea seem to me to be a bit similar to last season and need a lot more fitness work. Utd have no idea what to do with pogba now they have him and dobt know who will play where.

Meanwhile as these two managers wonder the clubs with incumbant managers seem well set up and going ok. Lfc, spurs and even arsenal...

Utd and chelsea cant afford to let the others steal a march on them.

Utd losing today will raise more questions than answers.....Chelsea imo will settle down and be there and there abouts.....

City will be in the top four. Then it's 3 places up for grabs and 6 teams challenging: Utd, Arsenal, Cheslea, Spurs, Liverpool and Everton. Dropping 3 points against teams outside the top 7 like Utd did today (or we did against Burnely) must be avoided....you simply can't afford to do that many times.

    Interesting season ahead it seems...

    Questions like:
    1. why didn't we listen to astro about Mourinho?
    2. why didn't we listen to astro about Pogba?
    3. why didn't we listen to astro about Rooney since last season?
    4. why did we doubt astro when he said, and made a bet, that Liverpool are #nailedon to finish above Man Utd?

Well they are now out to 12-1 for the league and 5th favourites for top 4 according to sky bet. Interestingly we are now second favourites for the league and heavily odds on for top 4. Hope they are right. We're playing great but Man City look unstoppable at the moment albeit with an easier start. I do like the look of our last 9 games of the season though.

70 points first. I don't care what anyone says or what any other club does. We need to get 70 points and if there's 5/6 games left or even more great.

People were saying very similar things about them last season, right up to mid/late October <ok>

Jose Mourinho's pride has got the better of him, unlike Klopp who is very humble.
