You do look good so far, but as I say we're only a few games into the season. Far too early to say who will win it.
I think Liverpool are too vulnerable....Mane gets injured and they are a different team. As we have seen. They dont have a left back. Their keeper can be dodgy. Too many things that can go wrong. Having said all that, Liverpool is doing great so far and a likeable team.
Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea away. 7 points! And winning at home against Leicester. Great start for Liverpool. Damn it.
Liverpool are a class act. Their style of play and potency going forward is incredible, but they do have some flaws. The intense style of play seems hard to maintain for 90 minutes and unless they have a comfortable lead in a game, you can take advantage of their fatigue in the last third of a match. I'm still not totally convinced by them defensively, eiither. However, they did well after Costa halved the deficit (though the defending for that goal itself was amateur all round). Mignolet doesn't exactly command his area and made a few dodgy punches/kicks, so question marks have to be raised over his reliability. That being said, when everything is in full flow, they are a joy to watch. Hopefully, our next manager can motivate us to perform at that level going forward.
They only have two hard away games left in Manchester. Whereas we've managed to make hard work of a pretty kind opening fixture list.
tbh that just about sums up the view of most of us pool fans. If nothing else we should be a good watch this season and the rest can take care of itself though obviously we would like a bit solidity defensively and their is a worry we don't turn up for games against "lesser" teams but we are strapped in and ready for the ride
Only one hard team. Liverpool have a good record against City. And looking at Manchester United's stuttering style of play, there should be nothing to worry about save maybe a dodgy penalty.
Liverpool are too unpredictable and still not sorted at the back which will cost them. I think title talk is very premature. The aim for them should be to try and get into the top four. They've started the season well and they've got an entertaining style of football. But it's hard to maintain at that level throughout a full 90 mins and even more so throughout a whole season. I think we may see them slow this pace as the season wears on which will result in them being caught out at the back more often. Liverpool fans should be excited with the direction Klopp is taking the team in though They seem to raise the performance level for the big games so I can see them continuing to take points from the top teams but I think they will drop points against the teams further down the table. And they may struggle if they get a few key injuries as they still need more strength in depth IMO.
Exactly, far too premature for the pool fans to predict a league win. They might be really good going forward but if your defense is questionable, you won't be able to grind out the results when you aren't on top form to win the league. Leicester had a sound defence that enabled them to win.
I remember the very same thing being stated last season (they do look to be the only team in the PL that are performing as expected at the moment though)
