After watching the Cardiff game you have to admit that we have the best most solid defence seen at ER for years. back 4 immense and especially Pontus Cult Hero Jannson. O'Kane looks a good player and everyone wants to do stuff on the ball with some confidence. Chris Wood well I'm going to get off his back he was solid bullish up top on his own and put a great shift in. yes maybe he could have had a hat trick, but thats 5 now so far and as many have already said, he's a £3m player so as good as we can get. Hernandez was great in the first half, died a bit and then came back to life late on. He should have put Wood through on goal but being a greedy twat messed up. However he then made up for it with goal of the month contender for 2-0 score which took the pressure. Gary Monk deserves your support, his team are starting do what he wants them to do and it shows. Well done gaffa Chipster over to you
with having Chipster away in Spain its quiet on here with moaners not having a go as they do when we play badly. hey Chippy you are now known as the MojitoMoaner Another clean sheet for Greene and although he looked bad at coming for the wrong ball twice he wasnt bothered much
On route to Yarmouth I had to listen to the game on the radio. First 20 minutes sounded dire for us, commentators were full of praise for Jannson from start to finish. You can tell commentators are biased with what has happened in the past, they had a bit of a downer on Wood when he shot one straight at their keeper and Hernandez not passing to Wood was crime of the century moments before his goal. Half time they slated Leeds a bit, said we were rushing and going direct/long too quickly and too often?
chesh Lambert needs someone to help him out from time to time, he didnt get it today. He did show plenty of skill though and against that defence was pretty good
Watched on sky so limited to TV view but. Jansson, big as.... strong as..... brave as...... can't get to 20 games quick enough for me. Wood, runs so much and must get frustrated when the ball doesn't get to him on so many occasions. Will score from 1 in 3 / 4 chances, what do we expect in the championship. Need a bit more in midfield for me. O'Kane is tidy and tries to keep things simple, bit of a bridcutt-lite for me. Not sure viera is ready yet. But ****ing brilliant effort, rode the storm and got the win. Made my weekend
As a prominent Green abuser, I have to say he did look a lot better today (except those 2 occasions). Hope it will continue. I shall cut him some slack for now.
We need a better keeper than Green, and that keeper is already at Leeds warming the bench For all his faults Silvestri is in my opinion the better of the two, better shot stopper, better at dealing with crosses and cutting out any danger, and even his distribution, though not great, is on a par. And he's only young so will improve Green's not commanding in the air, reckless when coming out of his area to intercept through balls, and has poor positional sense. And at his age he'll only get worse. Typical of our luck, just as it would seem the defence is finally looking more solid we install a liability in goal Still, good luck to him as he's been error prone all his career and has fooled many a manager before now
I've always had the impression Silvestri is a poor communicator One thing I'm sure of is neither of them are good enough to be in a promotion winning team
Gordon Banks or Peter Shilton would have struggled to keep a clean sheet with Bellusci & Bamba in front of them! Unfair comparison IMO.
