The funniest man in football has returned to the game

Former Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard has been appointed as manager of Leatherhead, the Ryman League Premier Division club have announced.

It is a first coaching role for the 37-year-old, who also had spells with West Ham, Peterborough, Wigan, Hull, Ipswich and MK Dons, and was called into the England squad three times without playing a game. He has since worked as a broadcaster and also appeared in I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here in 2014.

Leatherhead chairman Richard Brady said in a statement on the club's website: "Jimmy has gained a wealth of experience into a variety of management and coaching techniques as a player and (has) a very clear philosophy in terms of how he wishes his team to play."

Bullard's first game in charge will be away to Folkestone Invicta on Tuesday.

Never though I would see the words 'Bullard' and 'Philosophy' used in the same sentence!

That'll be interesting, when one of the players has a bit of a disciplinary problem! " Do as I say not as I did....."

    Good luck with that Jimmy!

I thought it was c***face. Coincidentally I'd have quite liked him to meet Leatherface after his cheeky chappy bants with us

If it's true that we reap what we sow it should be very interesting watching Jimmy's life unfold.
