Away to Everton on Tuesday in a cup game we are unlikely to win so not the easiest game for Oliveria to start in his first game.
My Icelandic journalist pal reliably informed me that the tea was revolting at the city ground . Screeny Mc screen face and Natalia our zero hour contract Hungarian tea lady have been massive Improvements to the overall squad 2016-17.
Now up to 2nd in the league with 9 points from the last 3 games. Clearly AN and the team could do no more point’s wise from the last 3 games and todays performance was an improvement on the last few games. I guess it would be easy to get carried away, but hold on, what position are the teams we've played so far currently in 6/8 Blackburn 1 (23rd) Norwich 4 13/8 Norwich 0 Sheffield Wed 0 (12th) 16/8 Norwich 1 Bristol City 0 (13th) 21/8 Ipswich 1 (11th) Norwich 1 27/8 Birmingham 3 (8th) Norwich 0 10/9 Cardiff 2 (24th) Norwich 3 13/9 Norwich 2 Wigan 1 (22nd) 17/9 Nottingham Forrest 1 (14th) Norwich 2 The highest place team we've played is Birmingham in 8th who thumped us 3 - 0 The highest placed team we’ve beat is Bristol in 13th. Of the 8 games we’ve played only 1 team is 10th or higher and we’ve played none of the top 6 teams. Of the 5 wins we've had 3 of those have been against the bottom 3 teams. Still not convinced our current position is any real indicator of how well we're doing, although today’s result suggests that perhaps performances are starting to go in the right direction and I think all of us would have been more than happy with our current position in the table now at the start of the season if not the performances. The next 3 Championship game are against Burton, Newcastle & Wolves and I think after the Wolves game we’re be in a much better position to judge if we’re likely to be challenging for promotion I still don’t think AN deserves the faith some have in him, but points wise he could have done no more since the Birmingham fiasco. I’m really not convinced he’s the man to take us back to the PL, but he clearly earnt some more time to get things right.
Talking about the position of teams we've played so far is pretty pointless in my opinion, at this stage it doesn't really mean much anyway. But fair enough if you're not convinced with AN at the moment, no doubt Newcastle and Wolves will be bigger tests but hopefully we can keep this winning momentum going. When Wes missed the penalty then NFFC scored I feared the worst, but a really good 2nd half.
We've all said over the past few years that on any day, any team can beat any other team in this division. All that really matters is getting as many points as possible!
Well clearly we can't choose who we play and when. Looking at the quality of who we've played should put our current position in perspective. I'd be much happier if we'd played and won against 3 top 6 team than the bottom 3. But time will tell.
Exactly. League position means nothing to me, we've all seen teams at the bottom of the table beating teams at the top.
Amazing amount of love for Graham Dorrans among fans on social media tonight - what a difference a rasper of a goal makes!! http://www.pinkun.com/home/howson_d...106?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
But still apart from Blackburn the teams we've played weren't easy, I mean Sheffield Wednesday was in the play offs final last season, and the other teams were always going to be tough. The fact we've only lost 1 game in 8 is a really positive start and give us a good chance. If we play like we did today than I don't see why we can't beat the teams in the top 6.
I'd be surprised if we don't play much harder games than Wigan & Cardiff at home this season and we only just scraped wins against them.
