You know who played a great 1-2 to put Mason through dont you? Hudd was **** which is why he was subbed.
Came through loud and clear on the Canadian TV channel I was watching on. The commentator mentioned it too and explained why it was happening
Sums it up pretty well, I guess the only worry is if they do get beat against Liverpool and Chelsea it might affect confidence. Hopefully not. I thought Mason we very good when he came on, as you say the ball to Mbokani was class.
Not an awful performance given the circumstances, I would have started Mbokani over Hernandez but that's a minor criticism. Referee was unbelievably bad, I've read a couple of articles with numerous comments underneath them saying that he had a great game...err...k then, maybe I'm just really biased.
My first game this season (Anti Allam based decision). Played quite well in patches....Only spoiled by R East the ****! On the team: - Jak didn't seem to do much wrong, although I was staring at something pointless when the first goal went in (the 4 pints at lunch probably to blame). Great save from the pen. - Defence looked strong, happy for Big Harry to get on...got the better of Sanchez on a couple of occasions. - Midfield did OK, Clucas the standout... - Up top...Hope Mbokani gets up to speed soon, he looks the business. Hernandez needs some help. I can't remember the last time we had a great big slice of luck like Arsenal had today when Livers was sent off? With the Leicester pen, the Snograss non-pen at Swansea and today we seem to be on the wrong end of too many decisions. I think we're due one so I hope we get it against Liverpool or Chelsea.
God knows what game the ref was watching We have to do better when we get to their box. Elmo had a couple of great opportunities in the first half and ****ed up Neat football again but need the through pass and a finish AS a few have said a free hit. I would have accepted 2-1 (after we scored). Need a bit more discipline/concentration
Only for "last man" fouls, not deliberate handballs (there's no such thing as a non-deliberate handball, mind).
No, they were Guardian and Daily Mail articles, but most of the commenters underneath them both were Arsenal fans.
That's a decent take on it, but still think Jak has done the business - but I can't judge today, so will read.
I admit I haven't seen the game, but are you being fair? This really is the very top league of competence for any footballer. We know we cannot afford the very top level of competence of goalkeeper. Does someone wish to define that? This was a very hard game for everyone. All aspects of our game was challenged, perhaps Jak was challenged and examined more than most. It seems he did some outstanding stuff at his end; how was it in the middle and at at the other end? Criticism of a footballer comes easy for some.
Bet you all wish the rabbit in the headlights hadda picked this team now... Put Clucas in for Jake and that should be the team for next Saturday.
Shocking article in the Guardian. Even the Arse fans are taking the piss out of it. Walcott the architect??/ GTF https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/sep/17/hull-city-arsenal-premier-league-match-report
The rules on handball are ****ing bollocks regardless. The rule should simply be if it hits the hand, deliberate or not, it's a handball. Questioning the decision based on something only the player who committed it knows just makes everything harder to watch. At least if it was the way I suggested there's no middle ground to argue with.
Just seen the sending off. Don't know the current rules now they've changed, it didn't look deliberate but definitely denied a goal scoring opportunity. This is the difference between a recognised defender and someone shoe horned into a position. Defenders must spend hours over years of training doing things like blocking shots with arms tucked in to make them second nature. Jake probably has to think about keeping his arms away.
You could have people just trying to hit the 'hand'. But it's not just the hand is it, it's all the arm even the joint with the shoulder I think, big target.
