I think people are getting a bit too negative on Coutinho, it's a long season he'll be one of our best players and will perform consistently IMO.
People forget he was simply left out due to just flying back. He'll start against Chelsea, and whenever else he's available.
I honestly think he shouldn't start against Chelsea, the team that beat Leicester played so well that I'd start with the same team. Only change I'd look to make would be Klavan/Lovren for Lucas. Bring Coutinho on around the 60th minute mark if he's needed
Cout just needs to be more consistent. With competition for places and other threats when he does play he shouldn't get man marked out of games so should open space for him to make an impact. Can see him linking with mane well when he cuts inside to pick out the runs of mane with through balls.
You could be right tbf. Very nice 'problem' to have. I'm looking forward to Luiz having a meltdown dealing with our movement.
Of course I'm right It's a great problem to have Don't think we should get to over the top with Luiz either, as it's bound to jinx us
I would much prefer Coutinho playing where Lallana is now. I personally believe coutinho's best form came when he played in a two next to Hendo in the diamond. To be fair, he's got two goals and an assist this season. Not too shabby.
do you know how many he played in that position in our eleven match winning streak? 5... then allen came in... he was injured. sure he might play it but lallana and wijnaludm are doing the work. will coutinho do it.
Overall, I would say Firmino and Mane are critical to our attack and Coutinho is an exceptional 'luxury'. All 3 are match winners. I came across some interesting stats on Firmino. Since Klopp took over, Firmino has played approx 2100 mins which is approx 23 complete games. Within that time, he has scored 12 goals, 7assists and 10 big chances. In terms of goal involvement, he is the most productive in the league. In addition, he has the most ball recoveries and tackles won among any attacker in the league.
His skill can win big away games. In the less difficult games we have the option to rest him so he doesn't try to do too much alone and the rest of the team can handle it through general good play rather than a moment of magic.
we need to just give him the ball in first min and say go on then do your ridiculous shot. if he frowns say you get one. do anything without getting it on target and you get raped with a carlsberg bottle.. ok thats a wee bit harsh admittedly but if he keeps lashing shots off never looking for a pass he's going to be told to swivel fairly shortly. anyway.. mane is better than him and firmino currently is showing more calmness and is looking confident. coutinho needs to show bottle and stop trying to win a spot and just play and the performance and goals will come.
You need to re-watch that time period mate. Yes he played there but he clearly performed better in the no.10 role. Coutinho went missing when SaSaS were playing as a result
