He says he's rubbish virtually every week mate .

In fairness he was garbage for about 4 months at the tail end of last season as he wanted away and the entire team were tanking on Martinez, but at the start of this season it was his fitness that was holding him back. For a Blue it was great to see him notch and his confidence will be soaring again now.

Everton donated 200k to the young lad that was mascot at Sunderland game yesterday who has rare form of cancer.

Fanily trying to raise 700k. Top work that. 200k is nothing to club. If all the Sunderland players chipped in a couple of grand would be well on way to getting that target.

I think that sees the target reached mate. In fairness I think the Sunderland players have already donated.

The essence of #doingalukaku is not to just be ****, it's about scoring the maximum number of goals with the minimum actual benefit to the team

Scoring a hattrick against a team whose own manager said they were in a relegation fight day one, with months of nothingness either side, is exactly what you can expect from Lukaku

    Great story

A shame he has to go to America for the treatment but I'm sure after #brexit all this extra NHS investment is going to help kids like him in the future :emoticon-0112-wonde

Good stuff. I heard them mention it yesterday but never said how much they had already raised.

Just have to hope the treatment works.

I said last season, he owes you big time. I don't watch your games so can't comment on his performances, I just look who's scored the goals, all I know is he hasn't returned on the investment in him. We'll see how he goes from here to see whether or not 'he's turned a corner' <whistle>

You won't like this bit - I did agree with astro last season that Lukaku rarely scores important goals.

I don't agree that he's not returned on the investment at all mate. He's bagged 64 in 131 appearances for us. That's virtually 1 in 2.

Astros logic was flawed, as it was never Lukaku's fault that the side couldn't defend a lead under Martinez was it?

He'd have had half a point if he used the stats for goals (or lack of them) scored against say top 6 opposition (not that I know what they are)

What do his league goal stats for you look like? Last season he scored three times as many goals as Benteke but they got you less points than Benteke's got us! Season before last Austin was 4th highest scorer in PL in a team that was relegated showing quantity can mean nothing.

He got 18 in the league last season and 25 in total.

Benteke's goals counted for more as you managed to defend the lead, that's the salient point.

Austin did his bit for QPR by getting 18 the season they went down, again you can't blame him for the fact that they were completely mince at the back!

A strikers job is to score goals, if the goals they score don't end up meaning 3 points then the team and / or the manager are to blame.

This season you're already seeing that Koeman has addressed the defensive frailties left by Brown Shoes. So therefore by default Lukaku's goals will result in more points on the board if he achieves the same run rate this season.

I don't agree mate. It wasn't the games you lost where his goals didn't get you the points - case in point you beat Sunderland 6-2 he scored the 4th goal. You beat Villa 4-0 he got the 4th goal. I just checked and in fact most of his goals were in games you won where his goals weren't the winners and of all the games you lost, he only scored in two of them and both games the opposition scored first.

Edit: just spotted the WH game, they beat you at Goodison an Lukaku scored first. <ok>

It's never been about criticising Lukaku alone, it's the whole setup. Not that's it's just Martinez's fault either. Everton are set up to make Lukaku their main man, and he just isn't good enough (or supported well enough) to do that job

Yes you conceded a lot of goals, but if everyone wasn't getting forward #desperate to set up Lukaku he wouldn't score so many either. Let's not forget the many big chances he has #bottled

In the last year Lukaku has taken control of a game twice. Sunderland this season, and I think it was West Brom last season

Mane has already done more than that against Arsenal and Leicester

About Lukaku's goals against the top 6, in his entire Everton career I think he has 3 against Man City (mostly in losses), 2 against us in the 3-3 draw, and 1 against Arsenal in a 4-1 loss in 13/14

Lucky is a good player but his attitude stinks. I'd not be shocked to see him get 15 before christmas then shut it down when everton look on for a great season to sabotage everton holding onto him. He's already been out saying he wants to leave and for me that stinks and is unfair to the everton club and fans.

lol so Bentekers was brilliant why sell then?
I'll tell you why because your logic is shoite and your latest favourite manager in the whole world ever (massive about turn in opinion there because he manages Liverpool now)
decided he was shoite and moved him on... :)

Super ultra effective Bentekers flogged on... :-D

Mate it's not about Benteke but seeing as you mentioned him - he didn't fit Klopp's system and was moved on [amicably from both sides] for about what we paid for him. His few goals earned us more points than Lukaku's because - and I know you won't like me agreeing with astro on this - he scored important goals i.e. goals that made a difference not just added to the tally.

Lukaku's hattrick yesterday was great [didn't Naismith do the same against Chelsea on the same day last year] and they do go down as important goals but the suggestion that astro's logic was flawed and the reason given being it wasn't his fault the team couldn't defend a lead is what is really flawed as that only happened once, so ..............if it's never happened before or ever happen again astro is right on this one <laugh>

Last season Benteke's 9 goals and 3 assists won us 13 points
Lukaku's 18 goals and 6 assists won Everton 10 points

Benteke doesn't fit Klopp's system but is well worth his fee for a team that will build around him

Lukaku is waiting for a move to a "big club" where his hiding from responsibility will be less obvious
