How do you know what's our strongest side when you've probably rarely seen Mbokani or Henriksen play? Also Maguire over Livermore? Really?
A fundamental is we can't afford SB's defensive tactic of 3 CB's with all the midfield options we have.
Mine was a reply agreeing with PLT for the start only Dio is dropped. Really unfair to drop Meyler who has done well so far, Mason who could and should be better, bring him on for 20 or 30 mins if he shows better than Meyler he gets the start in the next game. Same goes for Henrikson
It can certainly be argued, although I think the coaches will know who is busting a gut ... ... we need to attack and stop absorbing attacks, it's a big gamble in this league.
I'd say that almost every decision Phelan has made has been a correct one But for one defensive lapse against Man Utd and Dio missing an open goal against Burnley we'd be on 10 points Dio is the one player that will likely make way for another based on form. If our keeper or midfield change then you have to back MP Personally I think he's more likely to put Mason in for Huddlestone and bring Tom on (for Clucas or Meyler) when others are tiring. Tom will at least look as fast as his opposition then...
I reckon Chazz has done us up like a kipper here. Start an obviously controversial thread, smile and **** off out on the piss. Fair play
I prefer Jakupovic to McG, and Jak did well in the first three games. But the fact is all goalkeepers are partly to blame when a shot from well outside the penalty area gets into the net without deflection. My view is Jak cost City two points against Burnley, just as McG has often cost City points.
Jak made his mistake on Saturday. I can't help thinking Heaton would have saved the shot Burnley scored with.
He got beaten by an amazing shot that skimmed just inside the post. I'd be surprised if any goalie in the PL would have saved it. Having said that; if it was actually saveable, Marshall would be on the very short list of keepers who would have a chance. Jaco wouldn't.
Hm, shot was curling away from the keeper, I wouldn't think many would be stopping that. And even then it's not a 'mistake'.
Have to disagree, he was unsighted when it was struck by Curtis, at the away end you could see it. YP also mentioned it in their report. "Then, as Curtis Davies belatedly moved forward, Defour hit a 25-yard shot that Eldin Jakupovic, left unsighted by his captain until it was too late, was unable to keep out as the ball curved away from the Hull goalkeeper and into the corner of the net." This looks good to me too. Whilst Elmo has done OK I think we'll be a lot more potent when Dave gets back, exciting to see how he links up with the new boys too as they'll be settled in by then.
It didn't look quite like that on my phone, as discussed earlier I'd push him up in the same role that Diomande had been playing
