I'm up for getting involved with this if there's still room left in the squad. I'm happy to play anywhere outfield but haven't played in ages so no idea how good i'd be to be honest.
Trained tonight, bloody ell it gets harder as you get older, I stretched to get the ball and have pulled my hamstring. Its not too bad, got the ice on it as soon as I got home. Moral of the story is make sure you warm up properly first.!!! At least I am following SAFC tradition by being a sicknote.
On a positive note we won 3-0 this morning... On a negative I did not play because I am still crocked. I don't know about Kirchoff, more like Darren Anderton.
Why is this comment on this thread Monty, there is a correct place for everything and here is not that place. On a thread note started my first jogging session since I ran the GNR in 1985, managed half a mile, so its a start onwards and upwards.
Well done Cumbrian mate. I've been telling my good lady about the possibility of this little venture and she reminded me that it will also cost me 800 quid to fly back to participate. I thought she was gonna follow that up with "so you can't go" but she didn't. What she actually said was "so you are not going to embarrass me and you are going to get fit". My god I've created a monster, lol. She will either kill me with the fitness program or I will be in good shape next summer.
Way to go Horden, my kids think its great that I'm actually trying to improve my fitness and says its typical that I'm doing it for football. I've said before this is a once in a lifetime and I'm going to give it a real go.
Fantastic news guys If anyone needs help with training programmes or nutrition advice I am happy to help. I have a lot of experience in this area. PM me for moee info. As I say fitness no problem, BUT age is catching up with me and so are past injuries.
Ha Ha. Loving the attitudes on this thread. I think it's time to start thinking seriously about getting it booked, before the idea fades away. I propose booking it at the end of October, to give everybody 6-7 weeks to get their money together. Hopefully that will be long enough. Could everybody reply to say if they will be okay with that?
