We just need to defend in midfield infront of the defence a little more

Basically you're missing Kante and don't have a fast enough defence to cope without him.

Surely the only way is to change formation?

Give Liverpool some credit, they carved us open a few times and looked very slick. Think they'll be there or thereabouts this season. Granted we didn't play our best, and things could have changed had Vardy scored for 3-2 but it's early days yet, if we think we're going to repeat last season then we'll end up disappointed as the big teams have bolstered there squads significantly. Apart from Arsenal! Top 10 will be good bearing in mind our continental distractions.

To put the start into perspective, last season to this season
Liverpool away no point in either so no worse off

Swansea at home, both wins so no worse off

Arsenal at home, 1 point compared to none last year so a point better off

Hull if you compare with Villa as the worse placed promoted team replacing the worse placed relegated side we lost to Hull and drew away at Villa so a point down but overall on par.

It's a disappointing start with the performances but results wise plenty of time to pick up

People was saying yesterday we can no longer play with 2 strikers as we won't cope in the midfield without Kante. We have 5 strikers on the books and can't afford not to play 2 strikers. Personally I think the solution is to given Mahrez a free role behind Vardy and Slimani (If there are main 2 strikers) and bring in the 3 midfielders behind him.

Amartey or Mendy would have to sit all the time but it would allow Fuchs and Simpson to get forward abit more

Fuchs and Simpson aren't very good at attacking though, unfortunately, plus Simpson is now injured and it looks like Hernandez is even less effective going forward. I'd be tempted to experiment with Albrighton at RB though if we do want width from full-back, and Chilwell looks like he offers more than Fuchs in an attacking sense.

This, the only disappointment this season is that we are looking fragile, time to offer up a round of pizzas Claudio!

Hardly the time to go all doom and gloom yet, Mendy to return soon, Slimani to be upto pace, given we have 7 games in the next 23ish days, theres plenty of opportunity to tinker <ok>
