Sam Gallagher's header earned Blackburn just their second Championship point of the season as they salvaged a draw against Queens Park Rangers. Tjaronn Chery's sublime 25-yard free-kick had given the hosts the lead just past the hour mark at Loftus Road. But Gallagher met Corry Evans' cross and sent the ball over goalkeeper Alex Smithies reach to bringw Rovers level. QPR striker Idrissa Sylla was denied late on by Jason Steele as the visitors held on for a share of the points. An injury to new signing Charlie Mulgrew saw the Blackburn striker forced off after only 34 minutes in an uneventful opening half. The match sparked into life when Ben Marshall's foul allowed Chery the opportunity to curl the ball into the top right-hand corner. Rovers looked to be heading to their fifth league defeat, but Mulgrew's replacement Evans scooped the ball into the box and Gallagher rose highest to net his second league goal of the season. Despite their hard-earned draw, Rovers remain bottom of the Championship and are the only club yet to win a league match. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37263432

Disappointing today, looked very slow on build play in first half, bit quicker in 2nd half, had chances & thought Washington when he came on looked busy & up for it & was unlucky when he didn't get the run of the in there area.
Not just a poor result but also an awful game to watch. JFH appears to have a ploy of minimising risk by encouraging a ludicrously cautious build up and avoiding any kind of through ball. A Blackburn corner at 0-0 was defended by all 11 QPR players in their own area - tells you all you need to know. Take a chance Jimmy!
Tuesday night at Loftus Road, in form Newcastle (currently 1-0 up at Derby) will be a stern test, followed at league leaders Huddersfield on Saturday.
An unremarkable game which was lit up by Chery's free-kick. We probably did just enough to deserve a win, but can't complain too much because we just don't create enough. I often feel that we don't play with sufficient attacking intent - too much backwards and sideways passing. Good to see Cousins in the centre where he looks much more comfortable and there were decent performances from the back four, with Perch providing some attacking impetus. Washington looked sharp and showed that he can play up front on his own if we keep the ball on the floor.
What is JFH doing! The last game i saw was against Leeds (had a fab 3 week holiday) i come back and watch that? WTF! Blackburn are the poorest side in the division with a -8 goal difference. Their fans only sing songs about the Venky's and not their team. They are shockingly bad so what does JFH do... Plays half up front (i can't say 1 up front as Polter was shocking). There is no consistency in the team. The players looked liked strangers, looked sluggish, couldn't put 3 passes together and didn't gel as a group. Seriously crap football against a worse team. Once again we can't hold on to a lead. Question.... have we progressed under JFH since Leeds?... answer is No, we have got worse. It will be like this all season win/draw/lose. Seriously bad inconsistent football today. Washington looked lively so i expect him to start but you know Jimmy?
A great free kick from Chery and a few opportunities from Khayati, Cilla and Washington. Our goal was threatened constantly from a Blackburn aerial bombardment and it was only a matter of time before the defence was breached. I felt that Caulker should have come on to bolster the defence especially after Polter went off as he comes back to defend set pieces and we missed his presence in the second half. I think JFH is too pragmatic and sets the side up so rigidly that the players can't play with any fluidity. We're too pedestrian and there's too much side to side passing. We'll do well to get a point on Tuesday if we play like we did today.
5 of the first 6 teams we've played are struggling, only Barnsley are doing ok...our points total is maybe a bit generous as a result? Next two games real test of where we are...
I'm expecting a surprise, but I don't know what that will be so I'll just have to wait and see. I do think we're better than we think, but not quite as good as we'd like to be, so like the long distance swimmer we have to be patient
Simple answer. No, unless Polter is injured. He should have scored. Based on the short appearance from Sylla, I would play him ahead of Washington if Polter is out. Just my humble opinion.
