There is a middle ground between over achieving and under achieving. The club pays a peppercorn rent. Nobody in their right mind - I understand the irony of that when discussing with you - would suggest anything other than we were given a stadium by the council for free. The ground did change our fortunes. it's literally impossible to argue otherwise. Adam Pearson has said many, many times in public that he wouldnt have been remotely interested in buying the club without the council giving it a free new stadium. No, I didnt say the ground only held 3k. Bit odd. Its not up to HCC to maintain the stadium. It's up to the SMC. 'safe jobs for life'? It wasnt officers that made the decision to build the KC Stadium, it was the elected members lead by Pat Doyle.
As I'm working with a few Grimsby lads at the moment, their thoughts... dont want it not interested in a soulless new ground. Thats all for making money and shops round it etc etc for the people with money.
