Money I mean long term planning sorry. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mo-diame-reveals-key-factor-11855967
Mo quote “Newcastle is a massive club and a massive city, his agent and PR told him that. They may be a big club Mo....but just not ****ing good enough. Enjoy your time in the 2nd tier.
He thinks in the long term Newcastle have a better chance of staying in the Premier League than us and he might be right. But when they get back up there they'll ditch him the first chance they get and sign someone better. They're just using him to get back up and he fell for it.
Too big to fail ? Not good enough to stay up ! **** Alan Shearer diving elbowing twat. **** Jimmy Nail. **** Crocodile Shoes. **** em all. We are HULL CITY
Great post but I do think he's playing it too. Surely he's not dim enough to think he'll be at Newcastle if and when they make it back to the Prem? He longs to play in the Prem? He could be doing it now. He's in it for the money and being diplomatic. In short, Newcastle and Diame deserve each other.
The 29-year-old admits that he did have to “think” about the transfer before agreeing to the move to St James’ Park given the fact he had worked so hard last season to get the Tigers back into the top flight. Get to ****.
Untwist yer knickers, ladies. The guy is just doing what's best for himself. It doesn't even matter. He was a good player for us and he'll be a good player for them, and they ARE a bigger club than us, but none of it ****ing matters. Nowt to see; move along.
I wish people would accept the fact that the days of footballers being expected to display some kind of loyalty are long gone. I can never understand when supporters seem to take these things personally.
If I ever heard a player saying they had the clubs blood running through their veins, I would laugh myself into next week. Should never expect loyalty, it just doesn't exist anymore in football. I don't think any worse of diame, just glad that we got rid if he didn't want to be here. We seem to have a tightly knit group of players who are willing to play for each other, that is about as much as we can hope for, or expect.
I think it probably still does exist here and there, but it's no longer the norm. I wished Diame had stayed with us because I think he's a fantastic player, but I'm not going to think ill of him because he's gone elsewhere.
It's not him as such. The season when we stayed up and they went down and all the pundits were saying Newcastle 'too big to fail' and they shouldn't be in the Championship. They were clearly implying Hull City should have gone down cos it's a small club of no importance.....**** em.
It's always very odd when a player says things like that. If he was any good someone in the PL would want him even if we went down. Unless it's just a smokescreen for the nice pay rise he's just recieved. I know a lot of fans loved Diame (for reasons that I don't understand), but it speaks volumes that not 1 PL side came in for him even though he was available for as little as £4.5m.
