That's the aim! Keep all of us quiet, except for the compliant ones.

From being expected to go out on loan again (Phil Brown was talking about it), he seems to have forced himself into the first team squad fringes now, which is good. (Ditto Stephens & Isgrove)

We'll see what comes out of it, but with the football league trophy and europa cup programme their could be opportunities for these younger players at Saints.
Once the schedule slows then I think they'll either surprise us with a place in the first team squad or will be off on loan or sold in January.

Going slightly OT (oh well, international week) but this is the most wonderful, brilliantly crafted response by a Scottish bar toward a bunch of people who 'took offence' on a wronged customers behalf on social media -

Playing in that competition, as the left back against seasoned professionals, will give Sam the opportunity to show if he can make the switch from attack to defence.
In the pre-season games he showed a willingness to go past a player and get to the byeline, which is possibly what Puel wants from his FBs, so the opportunity is there to be grabbed.

Reading some Twitter comments on the U21 game (I know, terrible idea) and everybody is full of praise for Ward-Prowse in particular, except this one guy who keeps tweeting disparaging comments, calling him a championship player etc. Not just one comment either. He's a Saints fan. :/

I know people can think what they like and we don't all rate players the same, but it just seems bizarre to me that when our players are doing well there are still people who will go out there and be insulting toward them. Could at least be a "I really don't like him, but he played well today". :/

If you think that's bad, don't go on saintsweb. They've got a whole thread dedicated to calling him ****.
Absolute arse holes. Our young player with such a bright future, and a load of our ridiculous fans slate him because he hasn't set the world alight at 21. Dickheads. I want to register just to post on that thread and call them all pricks.

Surely we have learned by now that peoples opinion will always vary. There are those that played the game at a decent level will understand better, perhaps, how a youngster is developing. Then there is the wanna be's or could've beens that in real life no Jack Schitt!!!!!!
Football today is a lot more technical with all these formations, learning to attack in a different formation learning to defend a formation, keep possession, pass it back or side ways, only pass it forward if you see a gap.
Strewth in my minds eye I can see George Horsfall turning in his grave (Ex Saints coach 50's and 60's). He used to tell us the game is very simple....try not to give the ball to the opposition.....but if you do....get it back again!! What could be simpler than that?
As for Koeman we should all remember the board were not happy with his treatment of the youngsters, segregating them from the first team in the boards view was a massive mistake, as was not letting them train with the first team or should I say rarely. As a result some of them really took umbridge and have left.
It surely wasn't the saints way of doing things.........now I understand he is doing the same at Everton?
