Pulis has had talks, and has been very out spoken about the transfer window, and lack of money to spend. It sounded a lot like when he walked away from Palace, I thought he was going to leave.

There is no way they would have bid 20M for a player who played about 1/4 of a season in the Premiership once, and is now in the Championship.

See, this is the problem. With no official statement from our club on developments, all people have to work with is twitter and garbage rumour-monger sites like HTIC (?) so it's hardly surprising that things get blown out of all proportion.

I agree that the 'no comment' approach after the fact is a bit absurd and leads to dissatisfaction. I can understand it when negotiations are in progress, but fans warrant an explanation after the window is over.

Timm seems a very intelligent bloke. He might of been told that WBA wanted him. 20M he would surely not believe.

    I believe a story of:

"WBA declared interest in him on deadline day, we don't sign anyone so can't replace him, and the money on offer was nowhere near enough. So Norwich just dismissed it out of hand. Agent says to Klose WBA wanted you and Norwich just dismissed it. With no real details. Timm says he's disappointed because to play for the national side he has to play in a top league. And he really wants to play for his country."

I'd believe that as a series of events. I'd also understand it.

He is paid to do a job, and he needs to do his job. Everyday I do things I really would rather not, and I am my own boss. I have to because it's my job. Footballers seem to forget that. It's your job, and you are paid really stupidly well. Do your job.

I'm sure it will not effect Timms performances.

Listened to Moxey's Radio Norfolk response to questions about late transfer window. His answers were political in the sense that he chose his words carefully and seemed to think that our business was ideal going forward! How anybody can accept that we have enough strikers is beyond me and most fans. Naismith is NOT a striker - he has proved that on the pitch. His complacent attitude to our chances of
gaining promotion was amazing surely our chances are steadily declining? Our defeat at Birmingham showed a certain lack of togetherness which added to a lack of realistic ambition could see us stay in mid-table.

Early season injuries clearly haven't helped, i.e. Olsson out so Brady "forced" to play as a full back (again <yikes>) and obviously Jerome out with a bare cupboard as back up have taken their toll.
But that's no excuse for repeatedly persevering with both Naismith and Whittaker, who are both more liability than asset, imo. <grr>
I see mid-table as a realistic finishing position this season unless there's a drastic rethink of tactics and formations by the coaching team.
And I've seen nothing yet so far to suggest that's anything more than we deserve.

I'm not holding my breath. I reckon Naismith will be shoe-horned into the side despite "radiating disinterest" at Birmingham, according to one match report I read. <doh>

Do you know anyone in Malta? Could we get Naismith injured? <whistle>

I'm reluctant to make judgments about players performances when I didn't see the match. IMO, Naismith is not a 'hustle and bustle' style of player, but rather a clever player who makes problems for the defence by exploiting space between defenders. This may look 'disinterested' to some who value 'work rate' over technical skills, but I think that is why AN perseveres with him, because his skills are effective against packed defences (much like Juan Mata). On the other hand, I think AN asking him to play the sole striker was a mistake, because that role doesn't suit his technical skills and he was trying to do something that he isn't good at - a bit like asking Wes to play as a sole striker. He should have played Lafferty or Morris for that single striker role. What Naismith does do (when playing in the hole) is to create overloads for the defence. When Wes plays there against a packed defence, the defenders double team him to stop his play-making. Naismith makes it difficult for defenders to do that by exploiting space to occupy defenders and thus allow room for Wes to operate. When Pritchard is fit, he could play a similar role to link up with Wes and probably do that very well, but IMO, the Murphys and Canos do not yet have the technical skills and confidence to do that effectively. Until Pritchard is fit, then, I think AN will persevere with Naismith.

It's great that you support him. Rick, even if it wasn't your £8mill hard-earned that paid for him.

What I've seen of him, he creates problems for the opposition in that they have to avoid falling over his prone body. Obviously, Neil will persevere with him, so I hope for some improvement. I've obviously missed what you've seen in him.

I certainly don't see why there is a lynch mob out for him. I think he's looked clever, creative and has linked up very well with Hoolahan and Jerome and has got himself in decent scoring positions too.
Is he the perfect No.10? Of course he isn't, we paid £8m for him not £80m.

....8M in the Championship....you need a massive response in the Championship for that money.

We always seem to need to pick a target and make an escape goat, when Naismith moves on or perhaps hopefully improves we'll look for someone else to pick on...

Even if the whole team plays well, I still reckon someone would find a player to pick on lol.

Yes, and that does seem to be the culture, there must be someone to aim the moronic vitriole at.

    That's not fair, it's just someone's opinion
