Well perhaps not. Aw **** that it would be boring anyway if that happened.

Anyhow thinking of when @marcusblackcat played at the SOL in the summer, and said about what a great time he had. Well they are doing it again next year.

In May/June 2016 Sunderland fans got the opportunity to live the dream and play at the Stadium of Light!

Fans took their place in the player’s dressing room and soaked up the atmosphere before taking to the pitch for a pre-match warm up like the pros.

In true matchday style a Man of the Match presentation rewarded the stars of the day. Each team also had access to the Stadium’s Players’ Lounge and Quinn’s Sports Bar plus received a souvenir team photo to commemorate the day.

A post-match players’ meal with bar facilities then topped off the memorable experience. To register your interest for Play On The Pitch 2017 please call 0871 911 1555 or email conf&[email protected].

    .........
Maybe a bit of fun for some of you. Play at the SOL. Have a laugh and a beer. Marcus said it was a great day.

Be fun to pick the teams.

I'd be well up for this, Comm. Not fancy flying over for the game (and the after party)

At first glance, is they many off here that would be up for it, if we could get the numbers?

@Notorious T.E.L Would you come, mate? I'll let you put the nets up and carry my kit <ok>

Be funny if there was 2 full teams from here. With your user name printed on the back.<laugh>

Not sure how many could run around for that long without an oxygen tank. Id be either dead or spewing within 10 mins.

I'd rather eat a pound of freshly laid dog ****.

Nah I'll come if you can get Gordon and Rackem to play against whichever team I'm on.

It's £1800 for a team of 18 mind. But we did it so we made 7 subs ever 15 minutes or so and had a rota so we made sure everyone played around 50 minutes of football. Made it fair as last year the lads that did it at Newcastle were complete bell ends and some people got on for around 5 minutes at the end.

As for the souvenir photo!! Aye you get one if you pay for it!!

Was a class day though. In through the players entrance. Walking out of the tunnel onto the pitch. Immense.

Is that £100 a head then based on 18 players? I'd be up for it.

I'd pay £100 as well, but at my age and in my condition, all I want is five minutes playing time!

(Would still probably get a hat-trick)

Yeah that's it. Just need to make sure people are willing to be subbed was worth every penny although you have to toss a coin for dressing rooms. We ended up in the away one but sneaked into the home one for selfies after the match

Thing is I play 7 a side with the lads I played there with this year and we might be doing it again so I can't commit to both. If they're not doing it again then it's a yes from me. Can't afford both though

One thing to bear in mind is that you might be against a well organised team. It's best to make sure you're well prepared and get game time beforehand. If the lads I played with were doing it, they'd be up for some 11 a side closer to the time

    Ah....

I was thinking more along the lines of us putting two teams in, but we'd need at least 28, so doubtful <laugh>

I'd still do it the other way like.

If you can get two teams you'd be able to request a game against each other mind. You'd have to get in early though

I could be interested in this, but with all the football injuries I had from when I did play, my old legs wouldn't do what my football brain would want them too these days..

I don't even know what it is? A footy game where I have to pay £100 to play 5 mins?
