Well after an enforced holiday away, I am back with a sensible prediction. With the sale of a host of overated Scummers to top Premiership clubs(and some Chinese mobsters) I see only one way for the stripey lot and that is down.

With the added demise of ginger Ron showing his sweet tooth and swopping loyalties with the Toffee's the miserable opening draw against a 10 man Hornets side at St.Fairy's is a sign of the times ahead.
Losing easily to an average Manure side on Friday night will not help morale which must already be at an all time low at St. Fairy's.

There is also only one way now for Pompey and that is up ,as we begin to close the gap on the 'Pretenders' down the road.

PUP and down wiith the Scummers!<laugh>

"Gap" more of a chasm I would venture to suggest - we have lost managers and players on a regular basis and still managed to finish 6th at the end of last season so there:emoticon-0103-cool:

Did you have to wait for the first win of the season before you could post SB. Now you've put this thread up we can look forward to having another great season.

Keep posting the same predictions every year and the law of averages says...well, I don't care what it says, the OP makes a dick of himself on a yearly basis.

Oh, I do enjoy reading a confident statement like that, even if its typed by one of the biggest bone heads around!
I don't think us Saints will be bothering the top sixth again this season, but we will finish higher in the strongest league in the world than Pompey will, in the tin pot mickey mouse pub club League two, that's a given! <bubbly>

I'm referring to the bit about mickey mouse pub league comment... I hate League 2 as much as anyone, but the clubs that play in this league are not pub teams and do not need some arrogant comments from a plastic Premier League fan who thinks football was invented in 1992 and nothing outside of the Premier League matters.

Yes, I suppose that is disrespectful, unlike "overrated Scummers" and "pretenders" <whistle>

I can't comment on the League Two comments. None of us have any experience on that score. ...Actually, I tell a lie. I did watch Pompey v Aldershot in that division in 1980. The gap then was the same as now. (In terms of division.....a lot less in terms of revenue).

I just find it a shame that the away end is barely ever sold out. A few hundred is usually the best we can hope for, apart from against teams like Plymouth. Unfortunately Oxford and Bristol who bring good away followings got promoted... 100 away fans doesn't create much of an atmosphere. That's why I like the idea of being in the Championship. You have big teams like Leeds, Coventry, Reading... Teams which will sell out the away end, and teams with lots of history too. That's nothing against the likes of Morecombe and Accrington Stanley, they are genuine clubs and deserve any success they get, but I feel fixtures against the likes of Leeds et al would be more entertaining.

Hopefully Doncaster will bring a good away following, maybe Blackpool too.

The same old thread with the same old message and the same old comments in reply it seems. SB3 hasn't posted on here since 25 August yet there seems a willingnesss to keep ground hog day alive. Go on admit it. It does grate on you folks but you can't resist the bite.

I haven't been on the boards much in the last year or so but I believe back along you were very unwell sb, I take it you have made a full recovery ?

If that is I find a section of your fellow supporters arrogant and up their own arse then spot on Saint. I said that ages ago and to be fair haven't seen much to change that opinion. What I did learn was there was a sort of long standing joke thing going between the club supporters who post on some of the threads which I hadn't spotted previously. I also resurrected the thread as a chide to SB3 if you look back. What kind of opposing fan was he if he couldn't be bothered to keep his own pee taking alive. Shocking effort I thought. You lot though still can't resist a bite or two.

I think that you mistake a little bit of local rivalry banter as serious comment Greeny....maybe you've been talking to yourself for too long on the Argyle board...:D

No Saint that isn't it. I do understand a little bit of local rivalry banter with SOME but you can't tell me it's all who post on this. Go read History above and tell me that's just banter. So hence my "a section of your fellow supporters" and not all of them. The Argyle board is positively flush with contributors compared to most of the league 2 boards. I actually think there are only 3 boards with any movement at all. The rest are all in the Pub picking their teams.
